To be pissed off at DH - After holiday

200 replies

batsmaf · 27/03/2022 21:39

We get home from a city break. I always strip the bed before a trip. So i make the bed and DH puts the disgusting suitcase on it!

I'm not a germaphobe just an average person that likes a clean house, but come on! It's common sense, its been on a filthy plane, in bathrooms, dragged around numerous cities, now all of that is on our lovely fresh bedding!

That excitement of getting into a clean bed after a good scrub off the holiday shower is now tainted

WTAF, Is that all you have to get pissed off about Confused chill the fuck out.

Mumski45 · 28/03/2022 09:27

I really don't know how I have managed to stay alive for 50 years 🙈

Momicrone · 28/03/2022 10:11

How do germaphobes have sex, does everyone have to get scrupulously clean first?

HELLITHURT · 28/03/2022 10:15

@PennyPinkPineapple

Yeah that's disgusting, I'd be really annoyed too.

Nothing from outside goes on the bed. I get cross when DH gets home from work and sits on the bed in his train trousers, blah!

God you sound like hard work, train trousers???

I would be getting very cross with you!

CounsellorTroi · 28/03/2022 10:24

@BurntEnds

The bottom of handbags is covered in shit.
I always hang my handbag up on the hook provided in public loos. If there isn’t one I keep it on my lap.
ForAFriend123 · 28/03/2022 10:39

Dear God! You'd have a fit in this house

Hoppinggreen · 28/03/2022 10:41

Weirdo

Blossomtoes · 28/03/2022 11:05

Train trousers?! 😂

incognitoforthisone · 28/03/2022 11:25

Could not bring myself to give the slightest of fucks about a suitcase on a bed or a handbag on a table, sorry

PennyPinkPineapple · 28/03/2022 12:07

😂

Objectively I wonder what the real level of risk is here?

I think I was in much the same line of work as at least one other pp, I’m certainly another individual who used to drag a suitcase/wheeled cabin bag around airports, aircraft and hotels on what felt like at times a far too frequent basis..

I reckon I must have placed said baggage on the bed at home best part of a thousand times over my career and not once AFAIK were bedbugs or any other form of significant wildlife imported…

Only thing I did do was make sure the wheels didn’t mark the bed linen.

PennyPinkPineapple · 28/03/2022 12:12

@Blossomtoes

Train trousers?! 😂
Yep. Also bus bottoms and plane pants! 😁
Yellownightmare · 28/03/2022 12:50

Some of these people would have an absolute coronary about the minor celebs thread 🤣

MossyBottom · 28/03/2022 14:39

Where is the shit from though? When using a public loo, does one not either hang the handbag from the hook in the cubicle, or if no hook, put the handbag strap round one's neck as one hovers over the loo seat?

I can't remember how the subject arose but a doctor colleague had never considered the hygiene implications of putting her handbag on a toilet floor. When I explained my theory she was horrified and joined the club of hang-it-round-your-neck. Grin

whoruntheworldgirls · 28/03/2022 14:56

I agree OP, my suitcase always stays on the floor, while packing, at the hotel, when unpacking back at home.

I’m with you, can’t begin to explain how little either of these things bother me.

Not even sorry, just couldn’t care less Grin

I’ve read people on here who have a shower before sex, talk about how to kill a moment.

What on gods earth kind of train does your DH travel on Grin

Jesus, I wish I even had the time & energy to give two shits about half the stuff people invent to bother themselves about.

HowIsItMarchAlready · 29/03/2022 13:29

If train seats were white you'd see quite how dirty and disgusting they are. I wouldn't lie on one and I don't want that muck on my bed either.

RandomBasic · 29/03/2022 13:34

YANBU

rhowton · 29/03/2022 14:51

My DH puts a towel down before he does this as he did it once and I asked him to change the sheets! I really hate the idea of suitcases with wheels on my bed.

Sswhinesthebest · 30/03/2022 17:04

Don’t get me started on the cushions and throws on hotel beds.

I strip those off immediately. God knows how many bare bums have been on those - or worse!

mycatisannoying · 30/03/2022 17:09

First world problems.

junglejane66 · 30/03/2022 17:32

@BurntEnds

I agree it's grim. Same as people who put their handbags on the table they are about to eat off
We eat off plates in our house

I do this too. Urghh, makes me shiver with revulsion.

OP i agree with you too. So many poo and wee germs on all seats, handles, buttons.
