Aibu to think this isn’t okay - cleaner nespresso

We have a cleaner who comes in on a daily basis and obviously we have tea and instant coffee, which we keep in our home and provide for her to drink. However I noticed we are going through nespresso capsules quickly and then I realized she has nespresso(s) daily when she works. My husband does drink coffee and I’m the only one that drinks it and as a treat, even it home.

Aibu to address this with cleaner?

I tried to hide a sleeve with some capsules in, she found it and had a couple while emptying the rest into the nespresso jar.

Get over yourself 😂

How dare a cleaner help herself to your prestige nespressos? Tap water only.

i worked as an au pair once. i quit after 2 days when the dad told me where the... workmans coffee was ( they had builders in) i asked if that was the coffee au pairs had to drink as well. yes. we couldnt drink from the machine unless we bought out own pods. i quit i could already tell how that was going to be

I'm not sure what your angle is here? Did you expect everyone to be allowed to use pods? Or are you above the builders and they were to use instant but you got the good stuff?

This thread is pure gold

Anybody else thinks Gilead’s DS is Twentypast’s DH? Grin

This thread makes me feel totally cheap. I don’t have a coffee machine. Only instant coffee available here for me, any visitors or the cleaner I don’t have!

saleorbouy · 21/03/2022 07:08

If you have the budget for a daily cleaner then I'd imagine you could manage to let them have a Nespresso during a coffee break .
You sound very tight when you read your plight. Only cheap coffee for the servants, you could get a lockable caddy like days of old when tea was an expensive luxury!

Nespresso? How nouveau.

roses2 · 21/03/2022 07:12

Am I the only one wondering if the cleaner steals pods to take home? Several a day (3+?) doesn't make sense.

mnnewbie111 · 21/03/2022 07:13

I was about to give the posters shit who said you're obviously rich to have a cleaner because I have one and am nowhere near well off but work a ridiculous amount of hours and need it so sacrifice other things. Then I realised this is EVERY DAY! Jesus, are you Simon Cowell?

ivykaty44 · 21/03/2022 07:14

BacardiOnATuesday

Do you have cheap instant for the second class trades and expensive instant for those much better class of people?

SallyWD · 21/03/2022 07:14

Wow, I don't know anyone wealthy enough to have a daily cleaner. Let her have the Nespresso!! I have 2 cleaners that come together once a week. Last week I bought the a big box of chocolates each. They deserve it.

Oldtiredfedup · 21/03/2022 07:15

I’m afraid I’m with several here - you can afford the luxury of a cleaner and you’re begrudging a couple of coffees a week?? Wow

implantreplace · 21/03/2022 07:16

If she does It’s likely because of poor treatment by her employer
Oldtiredfedup · 21/03/2022 07:17

A DAILY cleaner too???

I work as a cleaner - I’m probably going full time soon, I’m too exhausted to clean my own home. Ivd been considering getting a cleaner…ONCE A MONTH (and we can only afford that because my partner’s wage is at least above the National average).

Get a grip OP - you’re coming across as very mean and stingy

Good grief!

What kind of peasant doesn't grind their own beans? Or at least comission a signature blend?

PaulaTrilloe · 21/03/2022 07:19

Keep them in a locked box like they did with tea and sugar in the olden days.

Alternatively you can get generic coffee capsules from Lidl or Aldi for half the price

Changeee15467 · 21/03/2022 07:19

I’m still struggling to come to terms with daily cleaner to turn my mind to the coffee 😂😂😂

Maireas · 21/03/2022 07:20

@BluebellStreet

Move your nespresso machine to the upstairs kitchens and keep the Nescafé in the scullery. In fact, get some Mellow Birds. It's no more than she deserves.
I remember Mellow Birds. That must have been 0.05p a cup. Worth investigating, OP!
