Dh follows me to bed

So obviously there are times when dh and I go to bed together but sometimes I like to go up first. I like pottering about, having some wind down time to myself. I'll read a bit in bed then doze off. Lately dh has started coming to bed at same time as me (regardless how early) he's in bed in seconds and wants light off straight to sleep. It bugs my routine but obviously I can't say anything as iabu.

Just wondering if there's anything your oh do that annoy you but you don't feel you can say because they are not really doing anything wrong?

Yes it’s tricky that one. It’s not quite big enough. Better for coffee

BlueFlavour · 20/03/2022 07:59

Tk maxx specials I think
Cath Kidston nice but don’t quite cut the mustard as too thick

Tonkerbea · 20/03/2022 07:59

@BlueFlavour

Crap
That's Sports Direct bad
BlueFlavour · 20/03/2022 08:00

And it’s DARK

LampLighter414 · 20/03/2022 08:01

If you don't want the lights off you could you know.... Go to a different room?

BrioNotBiro · 20/03/2022 08:01

Ooh nice bone china mugs. The middle rank looks good too.

overreactionreally · 20/03/2022 08:02

@BeHappy91818

That crap mug wouldn't get space in my mug cupboard. If I had to keep it it would be relegated to AN Other cupboard space. But I have issues. Grin

Lookingforanswers202 · 20/03/2022 08:03

Ahh my mum prefers thinner ones, I’m ok with a thick rim Grin

overreactionreally · 20/03/2022 08:04

@Somuddled

But most things don't come down to someone being definitely right or wrong, and having to quietly be put out if it isn't. In a marriage it is about navigating what works for both of you by communicating. Just talk to him. Does he know how much you get from your evening routine? Do you know why he seems to be needing more sleep recently?
We have a dog that is quite attention seeking (we are training him) I think dh doesn't find being downstairs as relaxing as he use too.

Lower end middle ranker

Dh follows me to bed
overreactionreally · 20/03/2022 08:05

@BlueFlavour

When he uses my best mug Grin It really really annoys me. I put the crap mugs to the front of the cupboard and the nice ones at the back. I can just about handle him using one of the middle ranking mugs, but when he uses one of the top three I want to snatch it away from him.
Ltb 😂😂

BlueFlavour · 20/03/2022 08:06

NoSquirrels · 20/03/2022 08:07

You really need a crap mug cull Blue. That crap mug is horrifying.

justasking111 · 20/03/2022 08:07

Mine dozes in the evening wakes up says time for bed, 10pm at the latest showers sets the timer for two hours TV , falls asleep immediately. I follow about midnight. Put on prime, Netflix on the tablet ear buds in or read. Fall asleep. He wakes during the night TV on no timer TV wakes me up early. He moans that he slept badly. Son says how does dad sleep ten hours a night. It baffles me too

BlueFlavour · 20/03/2022 08:09

But I can’t, he’ll use all the top tier ones
I’d love a cupboard for them but that would never work

Lookingforanswers202 · 20/03/2022 08:10

Buy more top tier ones and phase out the rest Wink

trackerby · 20/03/2022 08:10

There's crap mugs and there's bin mugs, c'mon now!

BlueFlavour · 20/03/2022 08:11

But then he’d use all my top tier ones
I wouldn’t cope

stuntbubbles · 20/03/2022 08:11

“Crap bang bang films” from a pp is cracking me up, that’s DP’s Netflix screen EXACTLY: mine is bright and cheery, then we switch user and it’s dark, gloomy, guns. I call them his “A man scowls, starring a man, and some men” films.

Anyway he annoys me by NEVER coming to bed. Or hanging out in the sitting room. We never read side by side in bed. Very rarely watch a film together. He goes to his fucking little man cave and watches his scowling man films or fiddles on his bloody computer. 99% if I suggest something to watch he says “Oh, it’s great, I don’t mind watching it again” – not the same, pal!

Also he leaves the kitchen cupboard doors open.

BlueFlavour · 20/03/2022 08:11

Thinking about it makes me feel a bit sweaty tbh

Dubbin · 20/03/2022 08:12

@BlueFlavour

Favourite - size, pattern and thickness of china
This made me laugh Blueflavour, but I totally get mug hierarchy. I have ‘working week mugs’; smaller, unimpressive vessels to use before dashing out to work, and ‘weekend mugs’; larger, more beautiful ones that I admire greatly as I take my time over my Saturday or Sunday coffee. They also make an appearance when guests visit. PS Blueflavour, I absolutely love that blue wooden cabinet that your mugs are photographed upon!
ronjobbins · 20/03/2022 08:12

@BlueFlavour

I treat myself to this mug and he uses it WILLY BLOODY NILLY
