When roll ons and sticks are more effective, more economical (all the product goes where it is meant to rather than half of it going into the air around you) less polluting and less irritating to the lungs? Seems like a no brainer to me.

I don’t like most roll ons particularly the liquidy ones. However the wild refillable deodorant is great actually, it feels less sticky and I keep the same external case and just get refills that are cardboard and go inside it. I got a bunch of refills on offer at sainsburys when they first started doing them and haven’t run out yet each refill last 1-2 months.

Roll on creams like Dove are gorgeous, absorb and smell lovely! X

BrummieCahoots · 17/03/2022 19:15

I love the jar ones from Natural Deodorant company .. but they are really expensive.. I don't like sprays .. they make me choke !!!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/03/2022 19:17

I use roll on except when I’ve run out, when I use dh’s spray.
The spray can is at least not plastic.

SunshineCake1 · 17/03/2022 19:20

@DetailMouse

I wonder if those complaining that roll ons take too long to dry have used one recently. As a teen, that was certainly true, but modern ones dry instantly.
Which dry instantly? My Sanex doesn't.
Branster · 17/03/2022 19:29

"Which dry instantly? My Sanex doesn't."

This is impressive:

White marks on clothes, sticky, not effective, have to reapply more often.

MagicDragonsPuff · 17/03/2022 19:39

I hate the stickiness of a roll on. I feel cleaner with the aerosol

browneyes77 · 17/03/2022 19:54

I just find roll ons leave my armpits feeling wet and sticky.

Would love to find a deodorant that actually works well by keeping you fresh throughout the day and doesn’t leave your armpits sticky and wet or your clothes covered in white patches that turn yellow!

All recommendations welcome!

@Misreadprob

You're all bu. Home made deodorant in a jar is where it's at
I don't want a deodorant, I want an anti-perspirant.
ChocolateCakeYum · 17/03/2022 20:03

Mum deodorant (the pink one) is amazing. Dries after a few minutes, isn’t sticky, doesn’t leave marks and lasts a long time. It’s the only one I like. Sadly I can only find it in Wilkos nowadays.

I never use aerosols. They’re harmful to the environment and the planet.

Roll ons are disgusting. You continuesly spread your sweat back on. It's the same as bathing to get clean... you're literally just sat in your own dirt

Merryweather80 · 17/03/2022 20:04

I use the Mitchum sensitive once up once downwards in each pit and I’m never sticky. It’s dry in seconds. I wonder if some people have used too much. Equally never had a stinging sensation post shaving my pits.

I had rashes and cysts from sprays which some pp have said they have had post using roll on.

I guess we are all very different and like what we like and do what we want to.

AnyName1 · 17/03/2022 20:30

Salt of the Earth non scented spray and you can buy a 1 litre refill for it. It's amazing stuff. Even for those that find 'regular' deodorants aren't strong enough.

Think you've misunderstood the process here! You wash first and then put your deodorant on clean skin. Someone should have explained this to you before you reached adulthood.
C0mm0nsense · 17/03/2022 20:38

Couldn’t agree more op.

liveforsummer · 17/03/2022 20:39

@A580Hojas I imagine that happens but some people might wish to top up throughout the day also

TickyTacky · 17/03/2022 20:42

I have to use roll ons (severe asthma) and while I agree with some issues they're easily worked around, I apply roll on then get bottom half dressed, do make up and then put a tshirt on. I find spray deodorants quite antisocial in public changing rooms etc, they make me wheeze badly.

Yourcatisnotsorry · 17/03/2022 20:55

Also not a fan of a spray, it gets in my mouth and is vile 😂

Not to mention the ball that makes contact with your armpit actually rolls so you aren't touching the same part of it each time. I'm guessing/hoping/not that concerned really that the chemical responsible for dealing with the armpit bacteria may keep said ball free from bacteria too for when it next rolls around and touches you. .

190190tnt · 17/03/2022 21:22

Can't tolerate sprays, start sneezing as soon I use one so have moved on to a Mitcham stick deodorant, works really well.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 17/03/2022 21:31

I use a roll on but also use impulse body spray and perfume.

Morgysmum · 17/03/2022 21:44

I guess it's personal choice.
I don't use sprays, as they irritate my skin.
I just wish, when people use their spray, they are aware of other people. It's annoying when you are in a changing room and get someone going ott on their spray, enough to gas a horse. It chokes me and makes me sneeze. It's the same with my son, heavy sprays and purfumes set us off coughing and sneezing.

Leontine · 17/03/2022 21:59

I used to use them after PE at school as roll ons were deemed uncool.
They were less effective though and we weren’t allowed to shower. Confused

Leontine · 17/03/2022 22:01

Oh and I’ve just remembered the occasional freeze burns I used to get from them. Shock
