I’ve so so many friends that have these now and really do feel I’m the odd one out
Friends all between 30-45 and look amazing! I’ve got to admit I’m very tempted but a bit nervous and also Ttc one last time, so unsure if it’s safe to do if Ttc???
and should I wait! I’m 40 early next year so was thinking about maybe then!
So how many have tried /or already do it? What’s your thoughts? Good?

Botox and fillers wear off...

Botox may well wear off, but meanwhile over time the muscles have atrophied, and then sagging and volume loss ensues. Not to worry! Inject some filler of choice. Fillers do not wear off, they migrate.

@anon2334

Am I missing something, they look awful and the more they have they worse they look. My partner said it makes one look like a distorted clown. I went to hairdressers few months back and saw two ladies that had it done and they looked anything but attractive and one was so young and looked so much more attractive before she had it done and her lips didn't look at all .
You're missing the fact that all treatments are not done in the same way, to the same extent and with the same effect. To use the example of a PP, I think make up can look very bad if clumsily and heavily applied, and can make the wearer look older or less attractive. But I don't extrapolate from this that all make up looks bad. Overfilled lips are to discreet corrective treatments what heavy contouring is to a little BB cream.

I really don't get how injecting a toxic substance into yourself is now being equated to makeup.

milkyaqua · 18/03/2022 09:32

Kind of like the Elizabethan lead makeup?!

JanisMoplin · 18/03/2022 09:37

No one is wearing lead on their faces now so I still think it is a poor analogy. Makeup now is well tested ( often on animals but one can always opt for cruelty free).

milkyaqua · 18/03/2022 09:58

Well, yes, that was a joke. But if we could travel back in time, we would surely warn the Elizabethan ladies about their beauty practices - as some of us are trying to point out now to the proud 'wearers' of injected neurotoxins and other long-lasting foreign substances, that there may be unknown as yet dangers involved (as well as the known).

Its not an equation, its a parallel to demonstrate a point. I'm not saying treatments are the same as make up, just that they have the shared characteristic of being able to make a person look better or worse dependent on how much is used and how skillful the application.
JanisMoplin · 18/03/2022 11:57

ah got it. sorry I misread.

Delatron · 18/03/2022 13:23

Yes but the ‘everyone who has Botox looks awful/like a distorted clown’ doesn’t stand when you realise that practically every single actress over about 30 has had some Botox (and the rest) you cannot argue that they all look awful?

Bad Botox looks awful. Bad filler looks awful. I think the worry about filler migrating is something to consider.

Delatron · 18/03/2022 13:25

I do agree lip fillers rarely look good.

Youcunnyfunt · 18/03/2022 14:39

I think less is more, when it comes to stuff like this... subtle changes generally don't look as out of place.

I've had botox, but it was for medical reasons - it can definitely help various conditions. The cheeky dentist offered to do some on my eyes too! I said no thanks!

Superhanz · 18/03/2022 15:11

I had botox done once and never again unless it was done by a facial surgeon, I looked ridiculous. If botox isn't done correctly I think it makes you look older.

ChampagneLassie · 18/03/2022 15:22

I've got a couple of friends in their 20s who do it and tell me almost all their friends are at it! I found this a bit depressing. I worry about the long-term implications. Lots of people seem to take it too far.
