Hate my new flooring which costs me £3.5k

I dont know what I want from this post . I chose the flooring from sample and now its laid in 70 percent of the floor. It looks fine at night with lights on but looks greenish tone in the morning. I am so upset with myself not making the right choice . it is LVT. Fitter is coming on Monday to finish the job. Still got £1700 flooring left in garage which can be returned.
I am thinking of just cut losses and return the rest of it then I thought I ll keep it for couple of years and then change it. I cant make a choice and on top of it have not discussed with hubby yet . please help me how can i make a decision as I am all over the place with my emotions.

@NinaDefoe that Crown colour is great. What’s it called?

BornAgainCountryBumpkin1 · 14/03/2022 09:20

Looks nice. I regretted getting lvt within a week though. Looks great (got a light oak colour) & still got 1 more room to do as will join up downstairs so has to be done. But in certain light I can see how fragile it is compared to how they sold it to me & theres no way to deal with the massive scratch I put in it moving the table when the skirting went down......Marks really bad. Wish had saved a bit more & gone for engineered oak.

BornAgainCountryBumpkin1 · 14/03/2022 09:23

Wasn't as much as yours though maybe 1500 so far so probably a smaller space but enough that I'm too proud to admit I'm disappointed with.

KosherDill · 14/03/2022 09:30

I would finish the job and change paint color. As another poster said, you don't want piecemeal flooring.

Barrequeen · 14/03/2022 09:46

I think it looks lovely and LVT seems much better than laminate. Having ours fitted in a few weeks!

Mylittlepotofjoy · 14/03/2022 10:01

No advise but I have a floor in my kitchen dinner that I hate !!! After a flood the quart tiles we had were taken up and a very expensive fossil tile thing was put down and I hate it . 7 years in I still despise it and it’s ruined my kitchen for me . So change it return it do what you can . But don’t keep it

stevalnamechanger · 14/03/2022 10:34

Put a rug down that offsets the greenish hue you're seeing?

Shell4429 · 14/03/2022 12:34

I have a similar floor, not sure if it looks greenish or not but I deeply regret having laminate flooring. It’s just so hard, I have broken two IPads dropping them and when I do drop something, even if it doesn’t break its so loud. I wish I had chosen carpet now. Planning to buy a very large (almost the size of the room) rug when I can afford it.

Sickoffamilydrama · 14/03/2022 13:21

Doesn't help the OP but if anyone is looking at LVT go for one with a thick wear layer and also I got a few samples and tried scratching them, some seemed to show the scratches more.

WeAreTheHeroes · 14/03/2022 14:19

@BornAgainCountryBumpkin1 - if you visibly scratched the LVT chances are exactly the same would have happened with engineered wood. You can have the damaged individual LVT tiles replaced.

Baublebonkers · 14/03/2022 18:19

I feel you, as the same happened to me. We laid the whole flat in it and I hated it. But it does grow on you.

freesoul12 · 14/03/2022 20:54

Just a update on the situation: company has agreed to replace the flooring but will only collect remaining flooring which they calculated at around £1500. So I get to choose another flooring . I will be out of pocket for £400 for fitting , I am sure I can live with that . But nothing put in writing yet everything agreed verbally, I am sure it will be fine. I have ordered lots of other samples.

I have also been told that the flooring is eco friendly which is good.

Good result. What are you having instead?

I have ordered lots of samples but I will pay for whole plank this time once I have shortlisted them.

Looks grey to me. I rather like it. It is a floor; looks well laid. Looks better than my light oak engineered wood flooring.

inappropriateraspberry · 14/03/2022 22:25

We got Sierra Exempla LVT (ours is limed oak). Really hard wearing and commercial grade. Have dragged the dishwasher and fridge on it with no scrapes. Would recommend it.

HI @freesoul12 I've read your post when you first posted as I'm going to be laying LVT flooring throughout my house and I've been out looking at some today. Is the flooring you put down called marino grey cause I'm considering this and it looks quite similar to your pics? Thanks

Petlover9 · 17/03/2022 15:47

@freesoul12

Pic attached
I like it, wish I could afford it
