I dont know what I want from this post . I chose the flooring from sample and now its laid in 70 percent of the floor. It looks fine at night with lights on but looks greenish tone in the morning. I am so upset with myself not making the right choice . it is LVT. Fitter is coming on Monday to finish the job. Still got £1700 flooring left in garage which can be returned.
I am thinking of just cut losses and return the rest of it then I thought I ll keep it for couple of years and then change it. I cant make a choice and on top of it have not discussed with hubby yet . please help me how can i make a decision as I am all over the place with my emotions.

Those really are different! But new paint will still improve what you’ve got, and maybe if the company got it wrong you can get some money back? It depends whether you were supposed to check the packs of flooring that were delivered to ensure it was what you ordered/matched the sample.

freesoul12 · 13/03/2022 09:33

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor

I don't think any amount of new paint will alter the difference, they're completely different!
They are opening at 10:30. I ll ring them.

I think it looks lovely and as others have said not green at all and also easy to clean. Amazing. I actually saw an advert yesterday with the same flooring and they had a beautiful potted plant in the corner of the hall. I loved the look. Also having flooring laid is very expensive so the price sounds reasonable. Hopefully it will grow on you, looks great to me x

I had packs delivered and it's clearly saying. same flooring in it what I have ordered. We had fitter booked in next day , I went to work and my husband was home . In dust while cutting etc my husband said he could not notice the difference. But he agrees now that they look greenish rather than creamish. we will see what company say . I order extra sample from online again . Just have to find the original one

@Thumpkin then I think it shows that people are all individuals and have different opinions. I’m in my 60s and been having decorators in for at least 30 years and all have said what superb quality it is, you need fewer coats and how happy they are to use it. They may have all in 3 different counties been lying

Thank you . It does not go with kitchen paint and carpet laid next to dining area which is light beige. thats my only concern. I have done three quarters of kitchen /family/dining area is this flooring and 25 percent carpet which is already installed. Same flooring will go in hallway and we got same carpet on stairs too I got this carpet

The one laid is nicer than the sample one in my opinion but you do need to repaint the walls. I would paint them plain white first and go from there.

I honestly can’t see the greenish tinge.

Baystard · 13/03/2022 09:50

@freesoul12 I'm a bit lost with all the pictures and knowing which samples is the sample of what you picked (rather than others you considered), and which is the actual etc - and I think some PPs are confused too and think that the picture with the warm coloured square and the lighter rectangular piece right next to each other show the sample and actual. I think you need to find the original sample and compare that against one of the same size if actual floor, ideally before you phone the company.

ISmellBurnings · 13/03/2022 10:01

Me too. I don’t know which one is the sample and which one is the one you have in your kitchen.

The magnolia walls really don’t go though, they look almost peach in comparison.

I think I ll find the sample first and put these samples together, I know what you mean.

I'd quickly paint the room before you make a decision!

NinaDefoe · 13/03/2022 10:08

Have you laid the colour on the left?

The one on the right is much warmer.

Is it labelled on the back or is there a chance you muddled them up?
They are completely different.

Baystard · 13/03/2022 10:09

@freesoul12 I'm pretty sure I've done this in the past where I eventually found a sample, triumphantly marched off to compare it to my actual floor, then discovered they were the same and it was just different when seen in a bigger scale and with other colours nearby. I can't remember which floor though so I must have got over whatever had been worrying me initially Grin

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 13/03/2022 10:14

They will both be ok with the carpet. Don’t worry about that part.

Oblomov22 · 13/03/2022 10:19

I understand the disappointment. I felt like that when out kitchen floor went down. But you just get used to it, and then you don't even think about it.

I clicked the original sample photo with the sample on right, as i could not find original sample so I clicked flooring that I received with the same reference flooring on right to see the difference if that makes sense

The one on the left is far greener.
The one on the right is much warmer.

Baystard · 13/03/2022 12:19

OP I think part of your problem is that you keep comparing your floor with the warmer-shaded sample, which is automatically going to make your shade look worse. I'd stop comparing, paint the walls, and then I'm sure it'll be fine.

Abraxan · 13/03/2022 12:24

@GandTfortea

I’ve got Lino identical to that ,cost a few hundred . Why so much
Be sure it's not Lino. If you had both together you can see and feel the difference. A photograph won't show you that difference though, esp just a small close up section like the OP has posted.

They're very different products.

Abraxan · 13/03/2022 12:38

No idea why but changed to be sure in that post!

faw2009 · 13/03/2022 13:28

Ooh sample on the right looks like French Oak Karndean. We just had this laid.

DonaPatrizia · 13/03/2022 17:30

It looks fine. Get over yourself, you’re not in Ukraine.

MrsDrRoss · 13/03/2022 17:33

We have a similar color floor just laid but ours looks more like floorboards I guess. I love it and ours do not look green just more like your photos op. I don’t know why yours looks green
