Hate my new flooring which costs me £3.5k

I dont know what I want from this post . I chose the flooring from sample and now its laid in 70 percent of the floor. It looks fine at night with lights on but looks greenish tone in the morning. I am so upset with myself not making the right choice . it is LVT. Fitter is coming on Monday to finish the job. Still got £1700 flooring left in garage which can be returned.
I am thinking of just cut losses and return the rest of it then I thought I ll keep it for couple of years and then change it. I cant make a choice and on top of it have not discussed with hubby yet . please help me how can i make a decision as I am all over the place with my emotions.

just a (no idea if plausibe)- but if "tinge"bes from natural daylight-is window tint an option?

Cherrysoup · 13/03/2022 19:15

I really like it, sorry! We have lvt, but slightly textured so the dogs don’t slip. Total pita to clean til I bought a vax machine.

Prettynails · 13/03/2022 19:19

I had a similar Colour throughout the downstairs of my last house which was massive I bloody loved it I had white walls and duck blue curtains and everyone coming in loved it and said how bright and light and gorgeous it was x

userxx · 13/03/2022 19:21

@bigyellowTpot

It looks fine in your photos can't see any green tint but why has it cost £3.5k that seems ridiculously expensive unless you've got a massive house and have had it in every room. is it laminate or solid wood?

It's LVT.

Cherrysoup · 13/03/2022 19:23

Lvt is just like Amtico or Karndean. It looks like real wood but is a sort of laminate. Useful in that it’s sealed, so it doesn’t matter if you spill stuff on it and doesn’t stain/scratch like real wood.

Dillydollydingdong · 13/03/2022 19:27

I had something called Karndene put down in my bathroom. It looks a lot like your photo. It's horrible but I resent wasting money so we put up with it.

Cerealnamechangerer · 13/03/2022 19:31

@ninadefoe your comparison with the colour charts was genius. What a great idea.

dumdumduuuummmmm · 13/03/2022 19:34

@GandTfortea

I’ve got Lino identical to that ,cost a few hundred . Why so much
That's like saying 'I have a plastic bag that cost 10p with my groceries, why is a Gucci bag so much'
Qwill · 13/03/2022 19:34

Get rid now. It’s pointless having it down if you hate it. I would cut your losses.

mathanxiety · 13/03/2022 19:42

When you're choosing paint, please talk to the paint salesperson instead of winging it. They will be able to tell you about undertones.

Kate0902900908 · 13/03/2022 19:47

I had same problem! White the room was empty hated it grey green tinge! Once everything was in it was grey and I love it! I think the other colours bring it in and I was white and grey with some natural wood xx

Hmm1234 · 13/03/2022 19:48

Doesn’t look green but definitely doesn’t look worth 3k more like £500

MurmuratingStarling · 13/03/2022 19:50

It's really nice @freesoul12 And no, it doesn't have a greenish tinge.

MurmuratingStarling · 13/03/2022 19:51

I agree with other posters though, that it's ludicrously expensive.

Lillabet · 13/03/2022 19:51

Try the new paint on the walls and put your furniture in, you'll probably find it works better for you.
At least you have all the same batch number, we inherited similar flooring when we bought the house but it's badly laid and different batch numbers so although, strictly speaking, the same colour; some have a warmer tinge, some have a green tinge - it sends me round the twist when I notice it but day to day, I don't have time to notice it it doesn't bother me!

Baystard · 13/03/2022 19:54

Without knowing how big OPs home is, and how many rooms are being done, how do posters know that it's expensive?

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 13/03/2022 19:59

If you can adore to write it off, then write it off but don't fake boast about being 'so upset' about it.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 13/03/2022 20:00

'Afford' apols for typo.

MrsDrRoss · 13/03/2022 20:06

Flooring is expensive. Just saying. OP. if you don't like it and you can change it then change it. I like it and have something similar but you have to live with it in your house so up to you.

Winterflower84 · 13/03/2022 20:11

This looks like the exact flooring I have. It's lovely and not greenish at all!

Fluffmum · 13/03/2022 20:19

I dunno what lvt is?

Izzieloo · 13/03/2022 20:20

I think it’s lovely . All those saying it’s expensive etc you have no idea of quality or the size of the room .
It will be nicer to walk on than Lino .

Jellykat · 13/03/2022 20:21

Think it looks nice, but being trained in textiles and fabric dyeing i can definitely see the green tint!
Changing the wall colours to try and neutralize it is your best option.

Legalconundrums · 13/03/2022 20:29

It looks fab, honestly once your furniture is back in situ, neutralising soft furnishings, change of wall colour (no expert but I'd go for a green based light grayish colour or a chinoise/teal) you won't even notice it. Let us know how you get on x

Loudhousefun · 13/03/2022 20:30

I think it looks lovely, something I would choose myself.
