Hate my new flooring which costs me £3.5k

I dont know what I want from this post . I chose the flooring from sample and now its laid in 70 percent of the floor. It looks fine at night with lights on but looks greenish tone in the morning. I am so upset with myself not making the right choice . it is LVT. Fitter is coming on Monday to finish the job. Still got £1700 flooring left in garage which can be returned.
I am thinking of just cut losses and return the rest of it then I thought I ll keep it for couple of years and then change it. I cant make a choice and on top of it have not discussed with hubby yet . please help me how can i make a decision as I am all over the place with my emotions.

It may look completely different once the walls are painted, as the colour you think you see in the morning may just getting affected by how the morning light is reflected and that will change a lot with white walls.

Remmy123 · 13/03/2022 17:41

It think change it now otherwise you will hate it every time you look at it!

noodiedoodie · 13/03/2022 17:50

why not put a rug on it - it could make all the difference? I know its a kitchen-diner but there are plenty of plain or colourful practical materials that will work well in this setting

userxx · 13/03/2022 17:50

@DonaPatrizia

It looks fine. Get over yourself, you’re not in Ukraine.

Oh fuck off.

Fluffyhairteddy · 13/03/2022 17:56

If you go dark on the wall - like a navy, it will lose the green tinge. It’s the magnolia. I love the floor.

fetchacloth · 13/03/2022 17:58

@GandTfortea

I’ve got Lino identical to that ,cost a few hundred . Why so much
I've got ordinary Lino too on my floor - cost less than £150, and still going strong after 12 years.
StanVic49 · 13/03/2022 17:59

The green tinge will be the green undertone of grey.
I think it’s a grand idea to think about a different colour on the walls. A grey or a taupe colour may help.

GirlOfTudor · 13/03/2022 18:01

Looks ok, but not worth £3,500! You must have really loved the sample to get it throughout your house.

WeAreTheHeroes · 13/03/2022 18:05

I've assumed the cost OP has given includes fitting, which is expensive for LVT because of the way it is laid. It's what it costs.

Summerfun54321 · 13/03/2022 18:10

Engineered wood flooring all the way, lasts forever, always looks good and considerably better for the environment than a plastic floor that just goes to landfill when it’s replaced.

Baystard · 13/03/2022 18:13

@Summerfun54321 engineered only lasts forever if you don't get it wet. LVT is better in that respect.

Leedsfan247 · 13/03/2022 18:14

If that’s the actual product you need to speak to your fitter.

The spacing is incorrect it should be randomly spaced so that it looks more natural

Fr0thandBubble · 13/03/2022 18:19

I think it looks really good.

Fr0thandBubble · 13/03/2022 18:25

Definitely change the paint to a slightly cooler colour though - I would go for an off-white with a slightly cool undertone (I wouldn't't go for one with a pink undertone, as a PP suggested - in my opinion, that wouldn't look right at all).

Yes it includes the fitting

I suspect your flooring is more grey than green. We went for this colour which has quite a grey tinge, but I really like with our white walls. It's pricey to get decent laminate/LVT and I'm sure it'll grow on you.

I have been looking at paints . Tried dulux willow tree and Mint macroon. its hardwork choosing the right color .

Ordered some more samples from dunelm.

Also existing paint is Almond White from Dulux but it looks like magnolia to me. Does it make any difference ? I have no idea about undertones

Get treatment for your anxiety....then go and enjoy your life

Sooverthemill · 13/03/2022 18:40

I doubt any of you have actual linoleum if it was that inexpensive. The vinyl flooring you buy from say, carpetright isn’t Lino. Linoleum is made from linseed oil.

I hope you’ve been posting the same with reference to Syria and Yemen for the last seven years.
ComeUnderMySexBlanket · 13/03/2022 18:48

OP, try Shadow White on the walls (F&B)!

Neverendingdust · 13/03/2022 18:52

I love it OP

bigyellowTpot · 13/03/2022 19:04

It looks fine in your photos can't see any green tint but why has it cost £3.5k that seems ridiculously expensive unless you've got a massive house and have had it in every room. is it laminate or solid wood?
