Found a black hair grip …

DH is at work, I’m in the middle of a deep clean. Whilst I was hoovering I found in the corner of the bedroom, kind of camouflaged into the carpet a black hair grip/Bobby pin whatever they’re called.
I’m blonde and have always been blonde, my kids are toddlers so do not use hair grips. No one else has been in our bedroom that would explain it.
I’ve also been away all week with the kids.

Aibu to be suspicious??? I’m also pregnant so know I don’t think rationally sometimes atm

OP disappeared…guess she found the knickers next…

Nocutenamesleft · 11/03/2022 19:13

Not a Bobby pin

Those things get everywhere. I found one in the bottoms of my shoe!

CustardySergeant · 11/03/2022 19:22

@FiddlefigOnTheRoof

Has someone yet told OP to..:get a grip?
Grin
Moobootoyoutoo · 11/03/2022 19:32

Has a thread ever had to have a follow up thread after the OP posted once and then disappeared?

electricdreamm · 11/03/2022 19:37

It's posts like this that I sometimes wonder if the clever ladies at Mumsnet put these on to get us all talking... 😂

Jeeez.. where’s the op ? I can’t believe the detail about hair pins and Kirby grips.

I think this post is a wind up.

There’s only one thing to say

LEAVE THE BASTARD !!!!!! 😘

Dnaltocs · 11/03/2022 19:55

Do you have any animals that may have brought in a gift for you? We often get gifts from our animals.
The children may have brought it in from school.

I never understand why people get themselves worked up when an OP doesn't reply until the evening, having posted in the morning. OP has a life and a busy one at that!

I hope you're OK. Pregnancy is a key time for infidelity; if you are with someone who feels they "deserve a bit of happiness" and talk about missing out on things or generally got a grass is greener personality I'd be a little Hmm

Tilltheend99 · 11/03/2022 20:42

@Littlebutload

Is from someone who lived in the house before you?
I vote for this. We found a hair bead in the corner of the room behind the tv (tv never moves) recently must have been there since we moved in years ago. When we moved in I found an earring in our rug that must have been lost by a partygoers maybe five years before that and I have hoovered it many many times but is thick pile.
ChangeAndHelp · 11/03/2022 20:47

Well it’s obvious that you have borrowers and they got comfortable whilst you have been away. . . .

It could be something, it could be nothing. I wouldn’t automatically jumpy to a conclusion. But maybe file away for reference

Itsnotover · 11/03/2022 20:57

@Wingingthis

Where are you? We need more details….

BoredZelda · 11/03/2022 21:16

I think OP must be doing a really deep clean given they haven’t been back, wonder what else they will find?

BoredZelda · 11/03/2022 21:17

There’s a pretty obvious answer to that.

SailingNotSurfing · 11/03/2022 21:21

Kirby grips are the same as hair bobbles. You can never find one when you need one but when you're out and about, you find them everywhere.

Same as in nooks and crannies of houses - I wouldn't immediately think the presence of a cheap hair accessory = rampant sex with dark haired temptress.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 11/03/2022 21:30

@CustardySergeant thank you! Can’t believe I didn’t know that

Dexy007 · 11/03/2022 21:33

They’re so tiny OP that one could be picked up in the tread of your or his shoe when out and about and then walked into the house. Try not to worry!

Yaya26 · 11/03/2022 21:51

Cleaner?

BurntO · 11/03/2022 21:54

I buy a pack of 100 every couple of years. They all disappear. I honestly couldn’t tell you where. I wouldn’t jump to conclusions, I swear they have legs of their own.

Dmacka75 · 11/03/2022 22:07

Grin where the hell is that ironing board!

RealBecca · 11/03/2022 22:10

Please dont say "I'm pregnant and dont think rationally sometimes" because you wouldn't accept being fired for that reason.

Hope you get an answer and its innocent.

EdithRea · 11/03/2022 22:15

@Hadenoughofbloodycovid

They’re called Kirby grips.
They're called Bobby pins.

Fascinatingly enough, there are regional differences in what things are called, and OP didn't ask for your correction. Now, what do you call a bread roll?

WrongWayApricot · 11/03/2022 22:37

I always thought bobby pins were the open ones and kirby grips were the closed ones.

Kiitos · 11/03/2022 22:38

There are literally hundreds of Kirby grips around my house from the girl who lived here before. They get between floorboards etc. I’m still finding them 2+ years on
