To say something to nursery queue jumper....

NoNow · 08/03/2022 21:02

Hi all!

Queue forms outside nursery gate every day. Two woman are good friends, only one of them will go to where her friend is in the queue, bypassing everyone! I think this is very rude, and it happened again today. (The other friend does not do this, even when beckoned!)
Which means she knows it's not on really....

No one else appears to be that fussed, but it bothers me because I think it's rude!

Should I say something to her?

AIBU?

Because no one is delayed, the kid walks around and in, adult does a thumb up, absolute non issue.[/quote]
Interested to know what everyone else is queueing for then?

Why can’t their kids just walk in too?

If they’re all queueing to speak to a member of staff about something specific and you don’t need to I can sort of see your point, Unless yours are marching to the front of the queue before the doors are open and barging in first?

@MRex

Trying to make me did your dirty business eh! If there was a polite way to shoo them back then I would consider it. It isn't the same person each time in my queue's case to make it worthwhile alienating half the the neighbours, so I'll pass.
So do they come and talk to you and then go to the back of the queue when they’ve finished what they have to say, or do they then stay with you when the gate opens?

If it’s the latter, I bet the people behind are bristling!

Or it could be that they only come and talk to you because you’re near the front of the queue in a better position than them!

@Cheshirecatwoman

Because some kids are crying and take ages to be taken off parent, some parents genuinely try and chat about their child, some are asking after lost property, others talking about their weekend/evening/morning…! Which 5 people doing this for 3 min each adds up!!

KarmaStar · 10/03/2022 14:08

😀🌈let it go op..or join them!😊

Don’t let it go, or join them. Doing either of those makes the world a worse place.

The advice to 'Let it go', is a tad patronising

You and your H really are setting up your DC to be rude and obnoxious like the pair of you. Poor child. Why don't you think about that instead of really believing you have the right to push in front of everyone else?

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 10/03/2022 16:59

@angieloumc

Please don’t worry about my kids, they are thriving and perfectly well mannered…!

I'm not worried about your kids, they obviously don't take after their parents.

How can you tell? You don’t know what well mannered means. That’s the whole point.

Oh I do; but also good to show kids in life how to be proactive and not sheep.
