Sick of all the war threads

I know I don't have to read them but even the titles are a bit much. I know what's going on, I don't want to keep reading thread titles such as:

Diane Abbot thinks Russian Tanks are r...

The Invasion continues

Would you even want to survive a nucl...

DP won't let the kids leave the house beca...

All in active right now.

Is it just me who doesn't want to be continually reminded? Perhaps I'll have to stop coming on here.

@dollymuchymuchness several posters have mentioned anxiety and mental health, I haven’t leapt to this assumption, I’m going by what people are saying here on this very thread.

Anyone using the internet must be aware that they may read something they don’t like. Life doesn’t come with trigger warnings.

Mumsnet is important enough to be targeted by shills. We saw it during covid ( waves at the Nudge Unit) and no doubt we are seeing some now by Russian shills seeking to demoralise and create fear. I am betting that the originating IP addresses of some posters would be quite interesting.
Now that is an interesting thought

A separate board specifically for them would be a good idea.

the idea of a fluffy board with only fluffy topics isn't a bad idea. Isn't there anything like that already? The ability to be able to hid the "trending now" box may also help?

What's the point of hiding these threads, as they still appear in Active! Moan, moan. moan.

There are sensible grown up threads about it. The 'invasion' ones are.

If we're expressing our preferences, I don't think the threads should be hidden away. It's so easy to hide them. I hide a lot of threads I don't feel happy to see the titles of. We've all been upset by something on here. I don't ask for the threads that upset me to be hidden away. I hide them myself.

It's completely natural, people need to talk through what's in their head.

I'm only surprised there aren't more threads to be honest

Those of us who grew up and started our adult lives in the cold war have all been here before. If we all speak openly about the fears it might help the anxious ones?

Can't we have a separate section though?! *@Libertybear80* - I appreciate you are clearly the intellectual superior of us all but 'what is this in my bed' threads are much more in the spirit of AIBU that 'WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!' It's exactly the light relief that a lot of us need at the moment.
