MrsNoelFielding · 21/02/2022 06:50

And looking at the met office we only have a yellow weather warning!

Itiswhatitis21 · 21/02/2022 06:51

Midlands here, definitely seems worse than eunice.
Got hardly any sleep, we got woke up by a gust of wind and the bedroom door slamming shut Confused so strange as no windows were open.
Ive been up since 5, took my 14 year old on his paper round in the car as no way was he going out on his bike in this.

MinnieMountain · 21/02/2022 06:51

Cambridgeshire. It’s definitely worse than Friday.

MotorwayDiva · 21/02/2022 06:51

North West here too, just checking school closures as don't fancy going out in this, but possibly too early yet.

ClariceQuiff · 21/02/2022 06:53

The rain here in W Yorks is also very bad - there was a lot of surface-flooding on the roads yesterday.

WutheringHeights66 · 21/02/2022 06:55

West Yorkshire here and it’s awful much worse than Eunice. I’m sleeping in the loft conversion as we’re having a new bedroom carpet fitted today and I’ve been inches away from the rain and rattling roof tiles all night it’s quite unnerving.

AladdinPrincess999 · 21/02/2022 06:55

Just walked home from work and it was so very cold and extremely windy. Just awful!

coldfeetmama · 21/02/2022 06:56

South Derbyshire here , awful
Worse than Eunice
Had some lightening last night around 7 pm
Not stopped blowing a gale since , every gust I'm just waiting for a crash of a fence or something

MrsNoelFielding · 21/02/2022 06:57

Watching GMB and there’s no mention of it! Eunice was top topic on Friday!

Whinge · 21/02/2022 07:01

Another voice saying it's way worse than Eunice. Last week we had some school closures here and barely any rain or wind. Some other schools are back from their half term break today and I don't understand how it's safe to open. Confused

PilatesPeach · 21/02/2022 07:07

Home Counties here - Eunice was worse for us - Franklin still very windy but Eunice absolutely shocking. Think south and south west had Eunice worse than other parts of UK

InFiveMins · 21/02/2022 07:08

Lancashire, and this storm is the worst I can remember for a very long time. Hardly slept due to the noise of it. Surely it isn't normal to be having such severe weather in short spaces of time?

PinchOfVom · 21/02/2022 07:12

I’m NW and really frightened about the school run. 8 miles through country lanes and also near the coast.

Has anybody’s school been closed?

1happyhippie · 21/02/2022 07:17

Cumbria here and also saying this is worse than last Friday.
It seemed to go on all night with no let up!
I have fence panels down in the back garden so cant let the dog out there.
It’s still wild now so hoping it calms before the dds head off to school.

SlipperySlope99 · 21/02/2022 07:19

Just heard some bumping and banging, been out to tied down trampoline - again, moved despite the weights and have just thrown next doors aerial over the fence into their garden- would explain the bumping and banging as it blew off and down into our garden

SunshineCake1 · 21/02/2022 07:20

Kent. Yellow warning. The wind is noisy. Dh needs to drive DS to school, walk the dog and give me a lift but I'm wondering whether to cancel the latter.

VanLife · 21/02/2022 07:21

@TheresSomebodyAtTheDoorNeil

Dps just been rampaging round the street like an angry, oodie wearing ghost chasing a rattling can that was driving us up the wall.
😂😂😂
Flangeosaurus · 21/02/2022 07:23

Lancashire here and it’s unreal. Can’t believe this is only a yellow it’s been absolutely non stop all night. Absolutely dreading the walk to school and back, just over a mile each way we’ll be bloody soaked if we don’t get blown away

dubyalass · 21/02/2022 07:24

Cornwall too and that was way worse than Eunice! Although I was at the back of the house for Eunice (WFH) and my bedroom is at the front, so may be why.

It had calmed down a bit but it's ramping up again now. I have not slept very well!

Hernameisdeborah · 21/02/2022 07:25

Very loud in West Yorkshire too. Trees look as if they're going to be uprooted as theyre swaying so much and I'd be surprised if our fence survived this one. Eunice was a breeze compared to this.

RainbowToes · 21/02/2022 07:25

I'm in Essex. The wind kept me awake half the night. So fed up with hurricanes now!

MrsNoelFielding · 21/02/2022 07:27

Can’t believe we had an Amber warning on Friday whereas Franklin is currently Yellow! Nuts!

Mirrorball2022 · 21/02/2022 07:28

Greater Manchester and it’s been howling through the chimney and at the windows all night. So bloody wet too.

Awrite · 21/02/2022 07:29

Since I posted at 3.19 saying thunder had woken me up, the noise woke me up 2 further times

Gonna be a long day. It's still raging out there so off to work and school we go.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 21/02/2022 07:29

Cumbrian Coast here and it's wild outside.

Schools closed in my area due to the winds and power cuts.
