House feels like it's shaking.

ouch321 · 21/02/2022 03:22

Boring and quiet in London. It was raining and hailing earlier though.

Justleaveitblankthen · 21/02/2022 03:27

Lancashire here. So noisy. Driving to Manchester airport soon, so will need to negotiate the Thelwall viaduct Shock

catzrulz · 21/02/2022 03:38

@Awrite

West coast of Scotland here. Massive clap of thunder has just woken me up and now the wind just seems so loud.
I'm in Argyll and it's windy but doesn't seem as bad as we thought it would be, no thunder here. I need to be on a ferry to Gourock in the morning though and dreading that IF it's running!
Faithtrusts · 21/02/2022 03:38

Near Liverpool here.. I'm wide awake stressing about every gust of wind. It's so violent.. I think this is worse than the other two storms too. How can this just be a yellow warning?

I'm scared to look out to see if the side of my house is missing a gate and fence panels.

Frazzled50yrold · 21/02/2022 03:42

I'm in Northern Ireland and it's awful.I'm lying awake listening to a story on audible because I'm too tired to read. The storm's constant in a way I've never known before and we've had thunder and lightning. This feels so different to anything we've had before.

MartyDoc · 21/02/2022 03:46

Cornwall and it sounds ten times worse than Eunice! Half 3 and still awake Envy apparently it sounds different as blowing from a different direction?!

Lostintranslatio · 21/02/2022 03:46

East coast of Ireland and it is manky outside. Can't sleep because of the noise and keep checking pots in balcony are not all over the place. It is going to be a fun day in work later on 😒😒

Fredstheteds · 21/02/2022 03:49

Noisey in Worcestershire

Hungry625f · 21/02/2022 03:53

Liverpool here, am waiting tea and toast whilst I await my death. Giving up on sleep.

If @Frazzled50yrold has thunder in NI then I expect we will have that to look forward to soon. Yay.

@Justleaveitblankthen you will actually die if you try and drive over the Thelwall viaduct!! It can't possibly be open in this weather??

NoWordForFluffy · 21/02/2022 03:54

@TheresSomebodyAtTheDoorNeil

Im on the Cumbrian coast..... It sounds like the world's ending here
Slightly further down the NW coast and agree with this description!
NoWordForFluffy · 21/02/2022 03:58

I would not be driving over Thelwall. Not a chance. If it's still open the authorities are insane.

Desiredeffect · 21/02/2022 04:00

Somerset here and can't sleep either. This is to much now with a third storm Confused

Delphinium90 · 21/02/2022 04:01

Me too,in Merseyside.I haven't slept a wink.

Take care xx
WouldBeGood · 21/02/2022 04:03

Scotland here and it sounds mental! Much worse than Dudley and Eunice, but no warnings. Scary.

I didn’t know about Franklin until the house shaking awakening.

@Hungry625f tea and toast sounds the way to go out 😄

CrimePodcast · 21/02/2022 04:07

NW here. Cannot believe how bad it is. Whole house is awake due to it. Lying here worrying about the roof tiles and chimney stacks. Checked Ventusky and it says it will be much worse at 7/8am. Honestly worried about the half hour drive to work/school.

Smurf123 · 21/02/2022 04:07

Ni here too and it is far worse than the previous few days. Sitting in a chair holding dd 7 months because it keeps waking her😫 to be fair to her it is seriously loud in her room and wind whistling through the closed window while the rain batters it

Furries · 21/02/2022 04:08

Sounds like many are having a rough time of it. It hasn’t hit Essex yet, not looking forward to when it does going by the accounts above.

Hope damage isn’t too bad when you get to survey things in daylight.

Redsquirrel5 · 21/02/2022 04:12

Horrendous wind and rain lashing against the window. It also sounds as if it is in one corner of the bedroom so I think we have lost some slates and it is raining in, into the loft.

Worried about the huge trees ( oak, beech) on the green. If they come down I think they will hit the house. My bedroom is at the front of our stone cottage.

Think I am going to go done to the warm kitchen and make a cup of tea. It is at the other end of the house.

Stay as safe as you can everyone.

Same here. This isn't a Yellow one at all.
allyjay · 21/02/2022 04:17

Sleepless in Sefton
Husband's flight from Manchester Airport cancelled for next 2 days too, presumably due to storm

toastfiend · 21/02/2022 04:24

Also awake here and it's just woken DS, but thankfully he seems to have settled back down. We were in a red warning area for Eunice and it was very anticlimactic. This one has been so much louder and gone on constantly all night since about 4pm yesterday. The house feels like it's shaking!

Faithtrusts · 21/02/2022 04:25

Gave in put coat on and went for an inspection to settle my mind.. can't see the roof, something keeps making an awful sound with the gusts but gate and fence panels seem ok at the moment.

Just seems to be getting more violent though, I cant believe three storms in the space of days, I've not slept properly for stress of it all for days.

Last bad weather (nov?) my gate, which is a car gate not a foot gate was lying on the floor the next day. I have a house with a side garden so it's so exposed if we loose a panel/gate.

HPD76 · 21/02/2022 04:26

Manchester and it sounds like Armageddon here. I can’t sleep so I’m watching a poor plane trying and failing to land at Manchester airport on flight radar.
