To of used my clients loo?

Name changed because this is probably quite outing and I don’t want it linked to my previous posts!
So I’m a cleaner, yesterday I was at a new-ish clients house, she’s got a big home so she’s booked me for 3 hours each time, just before I cleaned her bathrooms I said “oh do you mind if I quickly use your loo before I clean” and she said “hmmm this once but don’t make a habit of it, it’s not very professional”. I did go, because I was desperate but I feel mortified, upset and embarrassed. It’s never even occurred to me that this would be considered unprofessional?! The lady who does my hair, and the one who does my nails comes to my house and they use my loo and I’ve never given it a second thought?!
I ALWAYS use the toilet before I leave my house in the mornings to try and avoid needing to go at clients homes but sometimes I can do 2 cleans before I have my lunch break (4-5 hours plus travel time) and if I’m drinking water to keep my hydrated it’s inevitable I will need the toilet at some point. I know I’m a grown adult and I should of held it and should be able to control my bladder (which I can) but I was desperate and holding it would of made me uncomfortable. Am I being unreasonable?! I’m not sure, does anyone have any tips to avoid a situation like this in the future?

YABU - of course you shouldn’t use your clients toilets!
YANBU - you can’t help needing the loo and should be able to go at a clients house if you really need

I’d have had to ask her why it’s unprofessional if she said this to me. YANBU for needing a wee. I would also tell her to clean her own toilets from now on, drop her as a client and be completely upfront as to why!

Afternoon, everyone. We just wanted to ask if we could draw a line under the grammar policing disagreement now? We've deleted a few posts here and would like to get the thread back on track if possible. Thanks. Flowers

@Lwren

I'd have shat in the sink if I'd have been spoken to like that.
the kitchen sink
Wishihadanalgorithm · 19/02/2022 14:55

Get a new client then dump this one.

ittakes2 · 19/02/2022 14:55

I assume my cleaners use the loo while they are cleaning the bathroom.

babyjellyfish · 19/02/2022 14:58

Well done for telling her where to go, OP.

Coreblimy · 19/02/2022 14:58

YANBU. Ditch the bitch.

Justanotherobserver · 19/02/2022 14:59

Her handbag

CambsAlways · 19/02/2022 15:01

So she basically thinks you are good enough to clean her home , but doesn’t really want you to use her toilet, she’s a bloody fruit loop and a snobby one at that! Basically I’d have used her loo and left her to her own devices, 🤪

Oldtiredfedup · 19/02/2022 15:03

Drop that client. You do not want clients like that

user1471538283 · 19/02/2022 15:10

This once? Like she is doing you a favour? Its basic human decency and of course you can use the toilet. Whomever is in my home is welcome to use the loo; workmen, cleaners, friends. We all need to use the loo!

Does she expect you to ruin your kidneys cleaning her house?

Cstring · 19/02/2022 15:10

I would be mortified if my cleaner was too worried to ask me to use the loo. Of course it should be ok.

BobHadBitchTits · 19/02/2022 15:11

I hate people like that.

If you were my cleaner I'd tell you off for bloody asking in the first place!

butterpuffed · 19/02/2022 15:20

Nice
popcorn925 · 19/02/2022 15:21

I would give her up as a client and let her know why.

Howabsolutelyfanfuckingtastic · 19/02/2022 15:23

She's crazy! Ofcourse you should be able to use her toilet (that you clean) when you are in her home for hours. As you say you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated which is important, what goes in must come out! I wouldn't have liked being spoken to like that, she sounds mean.

oakleaffy · 19/02/2022 15:28

Or go the whole hog and do an Amber Hurd in the bed!

teawamutu · 19/02/2022 15:39

Jesus, what a miserable cow.

I assume the lovely lady who cleans our house uses the loo when she needs to - I'd be horrified if she felt she couldn't.

Katya213 · 19/02/2022 15:41

Yanbu. Cancel her booking permanently.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 19/02/2022 15:44

YADNBU
Ridiculous and unkind.
Especially as you're her cleaner and will know how to shine it up afterwards.
If she makes you feel uncomfortable again, I'm sure there are lots of other potential clients.

Hawkins001 · 19/02/2022 15:45

I can say in my experience when u need the loo it's needed,

UnshakenNeedsStirring · 19/02/2022 15:48

I want to know who the 2% are that voted YABU
