Those of you who have kids in private schools please tell me the kind of parties you have been to. I’m really nervous as I will have to hold a party very early on as child starting private in September and her birthday is 2 weeks in! I have nothing to compare with as we’ve not done a party for her before and haven’t been to any either I think due to COVID mainly.

I want to have a party btw do I don’t feel in any way pressured but I don’t know what the norm is. Don’t want to go OTT and don’t want it looking embarrassing either. Please help!

I had to reply OP, you had me when you said private school parties.
I know plenty of cheap private school parties at church halls and state school parties at £50 per person.
‘School parties’ would have been enough, unless you wanted to stealth boast Hmm

Anyway, I hosted a state school party at go-ape and got return gifts from Smiggle. It was awesome! I’d double check the adults/kids ratio for the age group as I had to pay for a few adults to accompany the whole lot !

Pizza express Woking ! Parties 🎉 parents will remember in great detail for decades to come. (Dates and times 🤣)

I would think about splitting into 2 parties- 35 is a huge number and could be tricky mixing old and new friends

there is surely no difference.

if there is you are attaching your own preconceptions of why you are sending them there instead of state.

private doesn't mean keeping up with the Joneses.

My boys are at a private school. We have been to parties with school friends and parties with friends kids from state school. They are in my experience exactly the same. I actually can't think of any difference at all. The kids just want to run around with their friends, have cake and then go home. I find instead of party bags a cone of sweets or a book goes down well or else the contents of party bags usually just end up in the bin a day or so later. Good luck
