It's worse on the NW coast today too. It's been relentless since about 2am and is still going strong. Eunice built up into a relatively brief peak and then dropped again. No sign of Franklin giving in yet (the worst wind is due at about 5-7am tomorrow, so yet to arrive).

Poll4 · 20/02/2022 22:53

I'm in the High Peak and it's so much worse today than Friday. Flooding everywhere and homes being evacuated a few streets down.

CJay81 · 20/02/2022 22:54

Awful here today, worse than Fridays storm. Loads of roads flooded and a village being evacuated.

Onairjunkie · 20/02/2022 23:19

We’re being hammered again. I actually think it might be worse. Sad

littledrummergirl · 20/02/2022 23:23

It was worse here today than on Friday.

TwentinQuarantino · 20/02/2022 23:55

NW here and can't sleep with the noise of wind and hail battering the window. It's worse tonight than it's been all week. Spent the day in Manchester and it rained literally all day, with some streets already looking flooded Sad

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 21/02/2022 00:12

@Bearlover87 He did thank you. Hope yours did too?

BearOfEasttown · 21/02/2022 00:14

North Midlands. 50 mph winds right now. Rain battering against the windows, stuff flying up and down the road. THIRD storm in 5 or 6 days. Crazy! Sleep tight everyone and stay safe.

I got an appointment in the morning at 10am, at a place 30 miles away, and this storm is set to continue for another 12 hours. Sad

There are floods all over the place, and the rivers are bursting their banks! With it being three storms in three days, I fear a LOT of flooding is imminent.

[quote BABAHOTEL]**@Bearlover87* @HopingForMyRainbowBaby* I hope your DHs are home safely soon.

Made it home safe and sound around 12:30 in the morning. It's definitely not something I could do drive a Hgv in strong winds. I was shitting myself enough as it was driving my car in the morning to a course 32 miles away. It wasn't anywhere near as bad where I was yet I could still feel the car getting pushed across the road

FluentlyExasperatedMadam · 21/02/2022 00:18

It's here in the West Midlands

Am so sorry, you really took a hit with Eunice. How is your horse doing?
Bearlover87 · 21/02/2022 06:52

Ah I’m glad! Yes mine did too thank you x

Worse yesterday/today in north than Friday. Friday was a big fuss because it was London.
hellithurt · 21/02/2022 08:11

@User135644 a big fuss because it was in London? You do realise people lost their lives due to the "big fuss"!

www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/storm-eunice-deaths-haringey-liverpool-ireland-hampshire-disruption-weather-b983406.html?amp

More than a "big fuss" I think!

Hopefully, no one dies as a result of the storms in your area now, but if they do I hope it's not described as a big fuss.

SoupDragon · 21/02/2022 08:50

Friday was a big fuss because it was London.

Don't be ridiculous.

HesterShaw1 · 21/02/2022 09:05

I'd say it was worse overnight in Cornwall. The sustained wind speed was higher though the gusts were stronger. Had a max gust of 84mph last night. We've had some more damage to property.

I hope itv settles down and hope the property damage is not too bad.

I'll be glad when all this is over!

hellithurt · 21/02/2022 09:14

*it not itv!

HesterShaw1 · 21/02/2022 09:20

Thank you 😊

Hmm Ok, the north wins victimhood. Shall we organise a charity single?

Separately to that, I hope that this run of storms comes to an end soon and everyone gets through them as unscathed as possible.

BuddhaForMary · 21/02/2022 10:43

Really bad overnight and this morning in West Yorkshire, this time it took my fencing. I'll have to wait for it to abate a bit before trying to sort them out. Awesome start to half term. Hope everyone is keeping safe.

Onairjunkie · 21/02/2022 14:09

My old horse is on his own in short restricted turnout but he’s much better. The vet wasn’t worried. The others have been mental in this wind. I am contemplating bringing them all in together to a large cowshed that’s a bit more resilient but if more metal/roof comes away and it bangs, I don’t really want them charging about inside. I wish the wind would just fuck off now. We lost a lot of trees, one took down some overhead cabling, so that’s just excellent.
