There was a thread recently asking people to brag about their wonderful kids, it was really sweet!

It got me thinking, what about the homes we love and are super proud of? If you're anything like me your home is your castle and safe haven, and I just KNOW there are people here with ridiculously gorgeous spaces in their homes! (Self confessed house porn addict, love looking online at the new listings locally 🤣)

Soooo show me your fabulous houses, or even just little parts of them you absolutely love, brag about your achievements and hard earned beautiful homes ❤️

Victorian house which needs a ton of work but I do love this view!!
This is beautiful @Magicmelodies21

We tried to buy a lovely big Edwardian with a box bay like this, but got beaten by... everyone.

After a rocky start... the thread has ended up exactly as I hoped! Thank you so much everyone who has posted and shared pictures, it's absolutely fascinating to see how people style their homes and what makes their house special. I just love how happy these spaces make you feel, it's lovely!

@Wagsandclaws - love it. The moon and the view is just wonderful.

Inside is really lovely too but no money could buy that fabulous view 😊

I don't have a beautiful house with a garden, but a two bedroom apartment in the ugliest building you can imagine. But I love my home. It took me 20 years to finally get it. This is my reading nook where I actually never read because I like to watch it while I read.
I know it is just plain, old boring IKEA, but it was all I could afford.
I like iz nevertheless and it makes me happy everytime I see it.

@CinzanoChic

Loving these pictures. We live in a mansion 😄, but sadly only a bit of it! Built 1750. Most of our furniture is second hand, reclaimed, restored. Here's the before and after of our sitting room..... I still hate the curtains! For what we paid we'd be lucky to get a bedsit inside the M25.
This is such a grown up, fancy house, I'm so envious! 😂 I think it takes such skill to match the decor perfectly with the bones of the house but you've managed it and it looks effortlessly chic, it's perfect!

A friend of mine told me that when she was very little her father (without telling anyone and in full Narnia style ) put a small secret door at the back of her deep alcove wardrobe that then went through the dividing wall and connected to the wardrobe of her sister, so that the two could "secretly" meet up. They both absolutely loved it and used it a lot especially if one was was upset or scared or been "sent to her room "

My friend and sister genuinely thought no one else in the family knew about it until she and her sister had an argument and it all came out, her DM knew nothing about it and it was only when her DF casually remarked that he had put it in years ago for the girls to find because he thought it was a fun idea and something that would bring the sisters closer, that the truth came out.

Apparently her father was quirky but fun.

Agreed, that's a lovely view.

BassAce · 17/02/2022 08:03

My favourite thing about my house (and the reason I fell in love and bought it), is the view from the kitchen sink…

Admittedly, that’s the view from pretty much every window as we are surrounded by countryside in all directions, but having come from a terraced house with a view straight into the windows of the terrace opposite I romanticised the idea of standing at the sink watching horses and deer frolicking in the fields. In truth, I use the dishwasher, and rarely spend much time at the sink. But the view remains by far the most beautiful thing about the house - and never gets dull as it changes so much from season to season!

Right. Where are all the people who have children under ten? Cos clearly no one who has posted pics has any or the do and theyve imprisoned them in their bedrooms on pain of death.

angieloumc · 17/02/2022 08:12

I'm not posting photos either but like others I have a library/study. I love that rook, it has a desk chair and a cosy chair. My house also used to be the village book shop, the history of it fascinated me.

👋 here and not posting because my house is a state 😅
Treaclepie19 · 17/02/2022 08:23

@BassAce that view. I'd stand there all day 😍

CrunchyCarrot · 17/02/2022 08:23

Some beautiful rooms/houses on here! I'm afraid my house is still a work in progress and I don't think there's a square inch of it that is photo-worthy! But I still love being where I am. Smile

Wintersbone · 17/02/2022 08:26

You should have done this in 30 days only. I bet more people would share.

Raises hand. My semi-renovated Victorian wreck is inhabited by a nine year old. You can probably just about glimpse the nice old floorboards and cornicing through the flurries of Pokémon and Lego constructions.

No pictures but I love everything about our home.
Our last house was the big house that everyone said wow! But dc left and we downsized, this is a beautiful cosy house, no mortgage, still in a lovely area yet much cheaper to run.

Witchinthedales · 17/02/2022 08:36

@stuntbubbles

I love how no one is sharing Grin

OK, I can’t crop out ALL the mess, and it’s not ~fancy, but it was bloody hard work to get it from bed bugs, cigarette scent, Artex and a window that leaked every time a cloud went by to this point. And I do love the colour of the fireplace.

::Awaits collective judgement for boasting::

That is absolutely gorgeous and right up my street! 😍 Love the fireplace and the book nook!
OnwardsAndSideways1 · 17/02/2022 08:45

I'm not posting my house as it's a giant mess! But loving some of these- that rose garden is beautiful, must be so lovely to sit outside and smell the roses. I don't mind that many of these houses are fancier and nicer than my own, it's giving me inspiration to try a bit harder. Don't know how to make everyone tidier though?!

RedRobyn2021 · 17/02/2022 08:49

@MissConductUS

I love sitting out on our second story deck and having a coffee as I look out over the woods. The cats love it out there too if the weather is nice.
Omg wow
RedRobyn2021 · 17/02/2022 08:50

@FaoinDrualus

I do NOT have a fancy house, I have a small appartment! But one of the things that blew my mind when I moved to Switzerland is that most appartment building have a nuclear bunker in the basement. It was a legal requirement since 1963. So here OP, is a photo of the door to my nuclear bunker Grin
This is so cool
MerryMarigold · 17/02/2022 09:03

@Oesro

That is a thing of beauty!!! But I can’t find the floor plan. And I need a floor plan.
If you're referring to the house in Belfast, there is a floor plan at the end of photos!
