To think fully grown men shouldn't need to pee in the street

I've just had the joy of looking out of my front room window to see a man had pulled his car up (into private spaces that are designated for the flats on our road) and relieved himself into the space. I saw everything

For context we are not rural! It's a long residential road that runs parallel to a main road, which is opposite the centre of town. Busy with cars and pedestrians, and opposite a long row of houses like mine. This was also less than a metre from the pavement, so a poor unsuspecting pedestrian would behave got an eyeful.
I also know that that space belongs to a family with three young children and he's just filled it with his piss in broad daylight.
So AIBU to think a fully grown man should at least be able to hold it until they get to a McDonald's or something.

Although they have free porn already at home. Hmmm. First we must ban all porn globally. Then lure them into the loos with a little porn. And lock the doors!

Permanently? Wink

Its not nice

But when you need to go, you go.

PurpleCarpets · 16/02/2022 21:49

It’s dirty. They don’t wash their hands. Piss on their hands and then use the petrol pumps.

Nice ladies wash their hands after they've pumped their four-star.

Right in front of someone's house when there's kids playing out there? No, you don't.
heyitsthistle · 16/02/2022 21:55

I would have just stood in the window and stared, possibly with both hands on the glass, in a creepy if not threatening manner. Just to make him feel as awkward as possible.

No, you don’t. Which is why you don’t see women pissing all over the streets like men.
canary1 · 16/02/2022 22:10

Male entitlement. Horrible

Last time someone used that line the pisser got eaten by a t rex. A fitting end.

But perhaps undeserved. He did close the door..

WeaverofWords · 16/02/2022 22:23

Make or female, it’s fucking disgusting.
Ex used to do it and I was forever telling him to put his dick away & find a toilet like the rest of civilisation.

WeaverofWords · 16/02/2022 22:23

It’s infantile, too. Like a toddler. Not EVEN my toddlers were like this. Make entitlement.

Abigail12345654321 · 16/02/2022 22:24

@MabelsApron

Maybe…..

I mean, you could check one out occasionally. For your birthday. Or when something heavy needed lifting. Like a library book. Maybe hang onto him for a few days. But no more than a week. They’d start to feel entitled to live on a house instead of a porn infested public loo HMO……

Abigail12345654321 · 16/02/2022 22:24

*in not on

Momicrone · 16/02/2022 22:26

Oi mate put your cock away - is what I would've shouted

Stormwhale · 16/02/2022 22:30

My dh has a neurological side effect to medication that has interrupted the signal between his brain and bladder. He gets literally no warning and just has to go. This could so easily have been us you saw (it wasn't) as we often make a joke of it together to try and ease what is actually something that upsets him deeply.

This bloke could have been like my dh, you just don't know. Really this hardly affects you, so just move on. There is so much shame and stigma around continence issues, please don't add to it with unnecessary posts like this. You don't know his reasons, so just leave it.

BuddhaForMary · 16/02/2022 22:33

Can you imagine if everyone adopted the 'if you gotta go you just go' mentality? Women squatting on the street, men peeing against whatever. The whole place would stink in no time.

TrashyPanda · 16/02/2022 22:36

That is true of children being toilet trained. Not of most adults, who are capable of holding on till they get to a loo.
WorriedMumsDontSleep · 16/02/2022 22:43

What's more likely. Dirty entitled male.
Extreme and rare urgency issues.

Statistics not your strong point, eh?

Madmaxxy · 16/02/2022 22:47

@Stormwhale I'm sorry for your DH but I'm sure he would make some effort to be discreet, not have everything on display next to a pavement and facing a row of houses. And it does affect me because I've had to see a strangers penis.

If he, like the man the Op saw, was in a car - why couldn’t he pee in a container in the car and take it home? A bit of forward planning and discretion isn’t too much to ask for. Of course it’s embarrassing when you can’t wait. But if you know it’s an issue there are better alternatives than peeing on the street.

It does affect people. It isn’t ok. Why are your husbands feelings more important than the feelings of women like me?

Stormwhale · 16/02/2022 22:48

@WorriedMumsDontSleep - is the rude and aggressive tone really necessary?

TinselTitsAndGlitteryBits · 16/02/2022 22:48

There's a mum at DDs (primary) school that lets her son wee up trees when the kids are walking home from school and it's absolutely disgusting.

She thinks it's funny when he stands there all proud. He's literally just come out of school, surely he can wait!
That's where this vileness starts.

Funny how it's only boys/men. It's gross.

Stormwhale · 16/02/2022 22:49

My husband does have a container in the car now, but when this first started (it just happened out of the blue) there were occasions where he had to stop the car like this. Of course once we realised there was a problem we put a plan in place.

tearinghairout · 16/02/2022 22:50

Oh gosh, I'd never thought of the petrol pump thing. Ugh! Thanks for that. Now I'll have to wash my hands after pumping.

WorriedMumsDontSleep · 16/02/2022 22:50

Probably not.

Just like it's not necessary for your husband to flash his penis about.
Find a bush.
