AIBU to not know today's Wordle answer?

Never heard of the word which is the answer to Wordle today. Anyone else the same?

It's only really familiar to me because we have just had loads of decorating done. Otherwise I doubt I would have thought of it.

I didn't actually know it in its "modern" form, just the shipbuilding. "X"ing the seams etc.

Got it in 3 very late last night after an evening in the pub.

Winter Holiday ( Swallows and Amazons series) was one of my favourite books as a child and I learnt the word there
