Spoiler Alert. Today's Wordle controversial or not. Aibu to say it is.

*Semi lighthearted.

What do you think am I being unreasonable for thinking the 5 letter word choice for today is controversial. The creator of the game is apparently English and it has a co.uk address.

I do three starting words each time, regardless of greens, to establish letters, then I had all five an dit fit. The uk/us thing hadn't even occurred occurred me. Its a word that fit.
I can't get worked up about it tbh. It's a legit word.
The fact it had happened before and the creator living in the US? Didn't even know that. Its not that deep. Its a word game.

I got it in four as my reasoning with the letters I already had made it the only choice but I did hesitate 😁
I did exactly the same! Realistically it was the only fit based on my letters but I did hesitate. I'm quite new to Wordle so wasn't expecting it!

Got it in three, thanks to the tip off about American spelling. Honestly it had never dawned on me to even think about the version of English that is used. I don't play Wordle daily, just three or four times a week.

I only got it in 5 because the last letter I needed could only be one of 2, None of the others sounded like a word. I was sure it wasn't a word but tried it anyway.

Ha I looked for this thread at midnight! I got it on third go but only because there really wasn’t another option with the letters I had, and thought I’d take a punt on it being American.

'favor-gate' was a bit of a twitter storm in January (before it was sold)

Think of words that are spelled differently in America like Color instead of colour.
Or… just say what the word is? Why bother putting spoiler in the title when nobody is prepared to give a spoiler?

I got it but now I know that the ‘spellings’ aren’t native I’ll be prepared for next time.
They are native spellings though, native to the person and place they were created.

Hated today’s wordle Smile I got it in 4 but there was a very long pause (and inspection of the co.uk domain address) before I put the right answer in.

I've just done it. Got it in 5. But I don't understand, unless I'm day behind you all, as that's the UK spelling as far as I know. Am I missing something?
No the uk spelling Has a U in it.
