To ask what you’re doing awake post-midnight? Part 2: Insomnia Strikes Back

Bit awkward to start this in the middle of the day, but I wanted to be able to link it on the old thread before it completely fills. Meanwhile, even though right now it’s not post-midnight, if you’re having a day-after hangover from insomnia, feel free to post. Whether it’s from poorly children or babies or pets or OHs, whether it’s grief or fear or anxiety or other losses, whether it’s work stress or home stress or just LIFE stress, we get it. You’re not yelling into the void; you’re sharing with people who have been stuck wide awake, too.

Hope you're doing okay @5YearsLeft

purpleme12 · 23/03/2022 00:20

Oh no I hope this doesn't mean she's in hospital ☹️

catwomando · 23/03/2022 01:55

@purpleme12 ditto. 🤞🏻 hopefully just sleeping.

I made the mistake of having a glass of wine with dinner so can't sleep. Ffs. and I have a job interview (video call) at 10am so need to be on form.

Another busy day for me be alas, no sleep it seems.

@ImNotDancing hVe you set off yet? 😂😂😂

Confusedmeanderings · 23/03/2022 04:57

Good luck with the job interview @catwomando.

@5YearsLeft I hope the silence means you're sleeping.

@Wallywobbles I loved hearing about Crevette and seeing the pictures.

I've been doing so well, had several nights of decent sleep and this cycle of chemo has been a bit of a breeze - I've actually felt better at times during it than I have done for years. Then I got over confident and spoiled it by doing too much and now I'm so weary and tired that I can't sleep! I deal in antiques and decided I was well enough to run a stand at a fair on Sunday. I was shattered by the end of it. If I'd left it at that, I would probably have recovered, but I also decided that I was well enough to travel from Somerset to France and back in a day on Tuesday. I'm on my knees now and I'm going to have to cancel my art class tomorrow, which I love, or I'll never recover! Plus I have some work in Bristol on Thursday and a family get together on Friday. I want to be able to do it all!

Oh and my 'D'Cat is not only hogging most of the bed space but is also hogging most of the quilt. My posterior is poking out of the edge of it and its cold! Its also not a pretty sight, but we'll gloss over that!

catwomando · 23/03/2022 07:59

@Confusedmeanderings France and back in a day would knacker anyone out and doing it during chemo strays into superhero territory! You may officially wear your pants on the outside.

And here is a picture which is suspect may have been taken in your bedroom (or mine!)

🤣

ImNotDancing · 23/03/2022 12:05

@catwomando blood test carried out 👌🏾 I also resisted the urge to be a sarcastic prick when they were running late 😹

5YearsLeft · 23/03/2022 15:56

Hey all - I have managed to stay out of hospital but have been sleeping constantly since I have no strength (and unfortunately still having some breathing incidents in my sleep, but eh).

Also, since I have no muscle strength at all, managed to take a somersault out of bed and bruised absolutely everything and jammed my thumb so now I’m in bed covered in ice packs. It never rains but it pours. I have bruises from my shoulders to my elbows on both arms, one on my back, some on my right leg, and I jammed my poor right thumb. Oh and I’m all scratched up, so have weird mismatched bandages because I don’t heal like I used to, so can’t just spray them and go. Argh. I’ll make sure I’m up tonight to open us a new thread. (I like to do it before we’re COMPLETELY full so then I can put the link and people know where to go).

Hi @5YearsLeft and everyone. Not been posting but have been lurking. Haven't been feeling too great, but my woes are Sao insignificant compared to some of you, I've been keeping schtum.

Sorry to hear you're having a particularly rubbish time @5YearsLeft, but good to see you back posting

Thanksfor all x

5YearsLeft · 23/03/2022 16:31

Oh @jowly please do post. The point is for us to be able to support each other. If you’re having a tough time, it’s not insignificant, no matter what else someone is doing.

And @ImNotDancing so glad you got your blood test. I would have found it irresistible to make some comment about them running late because I’m awful. But also, best not to anger the people about to put a needle in you
