Does anyone really believe that Boris Johnson has suddenly had to go into isolation? How many times over the past months has he blithely disregarded various rules and guidelines as it suited his agenda? Now he's under a bit of well-deserved pressure, and oops-a-daisy! he's in isolation.

The really depressing thing - about Trump in America, Boris Johnson here, and crass right-wing populist idiocracy in general, is that it will have no effect on voters, bar a little disgruntled muttering. We've created a society in which the scum, not the cream, rises to the top. I dread to think what the next couple of decades are going to be like.

Can you imagine being his wife and having to isolate with him in that tiny flat for a week with two young children? The poor lady, three babies to look after all of a sudden.

Definitely in the fridge. Or he has personal plans that take precedence over leading the country. The rules don't even require isolation now so it's a bit late to play the "abundance of caution" defence which isn't going well for Novak Tennis bloke either.

With modern technology if we really don't see him - even on a weblink/camera for a whole week at least that's just showing further contempt.

He disappeared after Christmas because he was on his holidays which was presented as "reviewing the data". Nope he was just having a Christmas break. He pops up on the week after like a sleepy meerkat like the rest of us. Same in a week or so. Is he actually definitely in the country or is he skiing? Wouldn't be surprised if he was.

The guardian has a photo of Ms Lee with David Cameron , but the Labour Party are seen as the communists , so this will be spun thus ( in the Mail )
