To think age 21 is not a 'young mum'?

I fell pregnant with my daughter at 20, had her at 21. I am now referred to by a lot of people as a 'young mum'. I don't feel like 21 to have a child is young at all and 10 years on, I've gotten on with my life very well, just the same as I would have without having my child.

AIBU to think a young mum is someone about 15, 16, 17? Anything above that is normal age to have children?

You're very weird. Are you @sweetcheekweak ?
I suspect you're right.
Definitely the most vile poster I've come across in 15 years here.

I aren't trying to validate it? I am telling you if I didn't I wouldn't have had kids. I assume you're going to tell me I shouldn't have bothered? I work in logistics. Not been an easy 24 months.

I don't need to accept shit. I am far far from insecure. My 5 GCSES got me to 6th form to do A levels. I just didn't continue them. I could have if I wanted to, gone to uni. But I got a job instead and was made a supervisor by the age of 18 on a managerial course. I got given a better option and took that for more pay instead. I don't care what social class I am. I am not shallow enough to care. I am certainly not ashamed. I'd be so embarrassed if I were you. I made the best choices in my youth. Brilliant in fact. I have my 2 brilliant kids now. If I'd have made the poor decision not to have them I would have been childless.

What exactly is wrong with being working class? You don't sound like a good role model to your children, snobbery isn't a good quality.
Exactly.
That's a fine high horse you've got there.
I'd hate my DC judging others for perfectly normal lifestyle choices.

Objectively, 21 is young in all senses (not just to be a parent) but that doesn't have to be negative

It's young to me, my mum had me at 19 and she was a young mum. I had my first at 29.

Personally I want to raise my child to be a nice person who helps and doesn't look down on others. I'd rather my child be a retail worker and a decent human than end up like Boris Johnson who is educated and wealthy but doesn't give a flying fuck about anyone but himself.
