Fell down the toilet AGAIN

DH is home sick and is getting RIGHT under my feet!?
He does annoying habits things ( as he points out, I do too) but I like to think none of my “habits “ actually cause injury to anyone or the home

I’ve asked him repeatedly, to stop urinating with the toilet seat up, as obviously it’s gross and I sit in it.
He’s a bit of a germaphobe and touching the seat probably gives him the heebeejeebies but this is not reasonable

He argued to the death ,yesterday ‘twas not him that had peed on the seat and he’d “wiped “ it afterwards.Angry

So he’s now lifting the seat, but not putting it bacj down!

TWICE today, I have fell down the loo!
I’m looking after a little baby , and generally running around bananas and a pee is not a luxury! It’s a quick in/out procedure!
So I fell down it this morning and shouted and then the NEXT time I was shouting insert expletives

I know I’m not BU just a moan, really
Surely men should put it back down after? Is this equal rights now? He’s lifts and I close? Sharing is caring ?

@Mummyoflittledragon thanks for the input! Very helpful!? Confused

Keep your eyes open when you're walking toward the loo and then you'll see if the seat is up or not

Yes OP I'm more sure why you can't do this

ThinWomansBrain · 08/01/2022 07:21

If I knew partner did not look at the loo before using it, and has so little core strenth she "falls in", I'd be closing the lid randomly, and having a good laugh when she starts complaining about sitting on the lid and peeing all over the floor.

TheRemotePart · 08/01/2022 07:22

A lot of angry trips on this thread
Cheerio

@ThinWomansBrain are you a sociopath then?

You expect to sit on a seat and instead you slide down the porcelain its fucking annoying mostly because its partly your own fault you didn't look

This. You don't literally disappear down the toilet but it feels like it. And it's easy not to notice in a middle of the night pee. I don't always put the main light on.

User2638483 · 08/01/2022 08:14

I’m feeling well jel of what a little bottom you must have to be able to ‘fall down the toilet’, even with the lid up I’d have no chance 😆

Nanny0gg · 08/01/2022 12:50

@2020too

When you walk towards to loo, where are your eyes? Confused

Can't you see what the upness/downness is of the seat?

Not when I go at 3am in the dark.

Oh, the joys of aging!

Nanny0gg · 08/01/2022 12:52
The science (yes, apparently there is some) on whether putting the lid down to flush is more hygienic or not is surprisingly mixed.

microbiologysociety.org/news/society-news/does-putting-the-lid-down-when-flushing-the-toilet-really-make-a-difference.html
Either way, it's more aesthetically pleasing to be down.

Warblerinwinter · 08/01/2022 13:27

I love the volume of posts here. The argument for unisex toilets is that you have to share sexes at home-what’s the difference? They should read this. Women are not happy sharing with men anywhere - but at least we can frog March the male offender back in to clean up. Personally I think domestic houses should be fitted with nice closed urinals for the blokes to stop this. I now live on my own- biggest benefit imho is being able to use either loo without needing to check the seats…🤣🤣🤣🙄

@lynntheyresexswappers

Well op you've managed to call everyone who can't understand how you've fallen in fat, or that they have a massive arse. If you were aiming for a comedy thread, you've missed the mark
The OP has had endless questions on her own size tbf, it goes both ways
GucciBear · 08/01/2022 16:32

You must have an enormous loo!!

BooneyBeautiful · 08/01/2022 17:55

@TheCloudsHavePassed

How did you not see the seat was up Hmm
This.
Caelan2018 · 08/01/2022 18:14

It drives me mad too my hubby doesn't do it but my 16 years old son does no matter hoe many times I loose my temper over it!! But yesterday took thr bloody biscuit I was in waiting for my anomaly scan and the partner of yhe girl ahead of me used the toilet in the waiting room and he literally pissed everywhere all over seat it was down and all over the floor like who bloody does that!!

AFP10 · 08/01/2022 18:22

@Freixene

You both need to close the lid
Agree! This is a lid, rather than a seat, issue. Both always close the lid and the seat will take care of itself. Yes it should be up when he uses. Lid down at all other times especially when baby becomes toddler! Love the comment re a pee taking 2 mins! I'm with you, it is a pure luxury with a baby! Smile Good luck! Let this be a lesson to all to sort out these snagging issues prior to childbirth Grin
singledadstu · 08/01/2022 18:23

As a male , I can say that I prefer the lid placed down when the flush is operated . I lift both the lid and the seat when I urinate . I will not be sitting down to do it . I hate seeing urine on any part of Antibes toilet and I cannot understand for the life of me why this is happening when other males use the bathroom.
I also am aware where I have stored bleach and am able to clean a toilet bowl both inside and outside whenever it doesn’t look it’s smartest . What is wrong with folk ? As for “he never leaves the seat down or up “ when he’s finished. Well 1/. Toilet lid needs shutting before flushing because germs can and will be emitted by the flush for up to 2 meters - if you’re brushing your teeth I’m the basin in the same room - chances are that that basin is within 2 meters .
Lift lid and seat - urinate .
Replace lid and seat - flush
Wash hands - dry hands

Ginandtonics · 08/01/2022 18:59

He can sit down to pee.

LackOfSleepCBA · 08/01/2022 18:59

That's a good idea!
Think I'll use that one HalloHello.
Always keep the lid closed! Thanks 😊

DroopyClematis · 08/01/2022 18:59

Two men and two women in our house.
Men lift seats up.
Women put seats down.
End of.

Chely · 08/01/2022 19:08

You could get in to the habit of everyone closing the lid before flushing it but you may end up with a puddle to clean up when you go to pee instead 🤣🤣 Look before you sit.

I've been there many times getting a wet arse/legs with ds, thankfully he is trained to clean up if he misses the large hole nowadays.

Mermaid67 · 08/01/2022 19:42

@Whymustyoubringinthebirds

It's pretty obvious when it's up...

The 2 minutes that it takes to go into the toilet and do an pee surely doesn't need too be a rush job even with a baby, it's minutes they will be fine

Check before you sit, not something I would get worked up over

My problem is when I go in the night, I don’t turn the light on and if the seat is up I do nearly fall down the loo!😮

Not when it’s dark it’s not. If I get up to go to the loo in the night I don’t put the light on. My DH did this once to me, he sure as shit hasn’t made that mistake again.

Yay. More toilets fallers ! I knew you were out there
Apologies to the 13000+ viewers that thought this was a Flushed Away /Dead Goldfish scenario Wink
