Fell down the toilet AGAIN

DH is home sick and is getting RIGHT under my feet!?
He does annoying habits things ( as he points out, I do too) but I like to think none of my “habits “ actually cause injury to anyone or the home

I’ve asked him repeatedly, to stop urinating with the toilet seat up, as obviously it’s gross and I sit in it.
He’s a bit of a germaphobe and touching the seat probably gives him the heebeejeebies but this is not reasonable

He argued to the death ,yesterday ‘twas not him that had peed on the seat and he’d “wiped “ it afterwards.Angry

So he’s now lifting the seat, but not putting it bacj down!

TWICE today, I have fell down the loo!
I’m looking after a little baby , and generally running around bananas and a pee is not a luxury! It’s a quick in/out procedure!
So I fell down it this morning and shouted and then the NEXT time I was shouting insert expletives

I know I’m not BU just a moan, really
Surely men should put it back down after? Is this equal rights now? He’s lifts and I close? Sharing is caring ?

@Freixene

You both need to close the lid
^^This.
ItSeemsRidiculous · 07/01/2022 22:02

All I want to know is how you fall down the toilet repeatedly?

Fringellacoelebs · 07/01/2022 22:05

This made me laugh! How do you fall into a loo?!

Also don't get why having a baby means you can't go to the loo in peace.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 07/01/2022 22:06

Oh grow up. If this is all you have to worry about, you're grand.

I’ve asked him repeatedly, to stop urinating with the toilet seat up, as obviously it’s gross and I sit in it

Maybe he finds it gross that he has to put it up after you've peed on it?

It's quite easy to put a toilet seat both up and down. And wash your hands after. No need for all the drama.

SeasonFinale · 07/01/2022 22:06

How tiny are you?

TheRemotePart · 07/01/2022 22:06

Yes that’s a good idea about the lid, for everyone actually !
I cannot believe there’s people on here needing explained how you fall into a toilet when the seats up.

And obviously I wasn’t expected to be up, but will now have to check! Grin

Tell him the little baby or the cats can drown in it .

morechocolateneededtoday · 07/01/2022 22:07

If he is a germophobe, why the hell does he not close the lid to flush??! Germs spray everywhere!

jamandmarmaladethesecondcoming · 07/01/2022 22:08

@BigYellowHat

So annoying. With my DH it’s skiddies. I just march him into the bog when I find them and make him clean them off once he’s dropped his guts 😡 💩
he could be the one......
DahliaMacNamara · 07/01/2022 22:08

I've had very skinny DC, and was once very tiny myself, and none of us have never managed to fall into the toilet. Do you have an extra large pan or something?

TheRemotePart · 07/01/2022 22:08

@GreenFingersWouldBeHandy this is fairly light hearted.
I suggest that YOU grow up, if you’re getting worked up about a daft thread eyeroll

Lol my sistas who have to deal with this sort of thing: bless you in your future DH training endeavours Wink

YANBU that the loo should be left clean and with the seat down but I never understand women (and it is always women) who make such a dramatic martyrdom out of looking after a baby that they apparently can't even go for a wee like a normal person. Worst case, your baby cries in a cot/bouncy chair/playpen for a few minutes. Not the end of the world, surely.

Jaxhog · 07/01/2022 22:10

Just make it a new rule to always shut the lid. That's our rule and it's nice to always have a closed loo.

Yup. That's how we do it too. (Have you any idea how many droplets get sprayed around when you flush when the lid is up?)

StellaGibson118 · 07/01/2022 22:12

I use a piece of toilet paper to put the lid down with so I dont touch it directly and I wash my hands after anyway. Is he even washing his hands if hes so bothered about touching the seat?

Another vote for everyone closing the lid prior to flushing.

Why? Confused

I've sat on the loo many a time when the seat's been left up and in all my 52 years on earth, I've never fallen down it once.

Walking4You · 07/01/2022 22:15

I have to say, if the toilet seat is up, I have been known to not realise that until I tried to sit down…..
Done that many times.

I’ve had that conversation with my two ds and DH. The answer ive had was that, as there are 3 of them, all men, who lift the toilet seat, I shouod make sure I leave it up for them 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
I found it hard to explain why my preference should be the one to follow (apart form the fact that arriving on a loo that is clearly stained by pee is 🤮🤮. At least with the seat down, it’s hidden)

elelel · 07/01/2022 22:15

I cannot believe a grown adult falls into the toilet 🤷🏻‍♀️

TheRemotePart · 07/01/2022 22:17
  • no idea why people are getting triggered over how one falls into a toilet but ok…Confused
OP posts:
SunshineCake1 · 07/01/2022 22:17

Given you should put the lid down before you flush, everyone should have to lift the lid to pee..

MiniPumpkin · 07/01/2022 22:17

I’m not getting how you didn’t look at the toilet before managing to fall down there, funny though lol
Some people have absolutely disgusting toilet habits, my dh for instance. You’d think you’d want to clear up the evidence but it never changes Hmm

TheRemotePart · 07/01/2022 22:17

@Walking4You ah you’re outnumbered!!

OP posts:
Theunamedcat · 07/01/2022 22:17

You expect to sit on a seat and instead you slide down the porcelain its fucking annoying mostly because its partly your own fault you didn't look

My ex found it hilarious then I showed him my back I bruised badly and I really managed to clout my back I paid more attention next time but living with grown men who won't put the lid down is bloody annoying

TheRemotePart · 07/01/2022 22:21

@Theunamedcat aw bless you! Ouch!

Maybe there’s just a lot of big bummed woman on this thread Grin or more considerate DHs haha
