LIGHTHEARTED before anyone tells me I must have no real problems!

Q. If someone asked you to pick up Robinsons Apple and Pear squash (fig A) in the shop and the shop didn't have any, which of the second two options photographed would you consider to be the most appropriate and closest alternative?

YABU = Robinsons Apple & Blackcurrant is the closest to the original item requested.

YANBU = Morrisons Apple & Pear is the closest to the item requested.

Thanks 😬

@RumJerrySailorRum

He now knows not to mess with the specific flavour and to NEVER buy double strength of anything!

Why?
You just use half the amount of the squash, this also means you're using less single-use plastic.

@YoComoManzanas

^Neither because both say 'no added sugar' which means it's full of sweetners.
Fresh juice would be better.^

Really?
Fresh juice is full of sugar, therefore higher calorie content, worse for your teeth etc. The sweeteners used in products these days are far better than they used to be.

250ml of 'no added sugar' squash tends to contain less than 20 calories, whereas actual juice is around 150.

@Harmonypuss because

  1. I really don't like the taste of sweeteners.
  2. If I'm drinking fruit juice, it's because I want to drink something sugary, usually after intense exercise or when hungover (rare now I'm old) or ill, etc. I don't drink fruit juice as my main drink it's usually water or tea.
  3. I don't care about counting calories.

You can only go two ways;

Go back and say "sorry they didn't have that in stock"

OR

Buy both and give them the choice

Hankunamatata · 02/01/2022 19:28

Its always diluting/diluty juice (proud northern)

Duchess379 · 02/01/2022 20:11

I would have bought gin... 😁

A couple of things, did your dh have the benefit of the photo of what you wanted that you put in your post as that should make Morrisons apple and pear the more obvious choice (I do give photos to my DH if asking him to buy something he might find weird) and secondly did you actually ask for Robinson's when you weren't bothered about the brand. Saying that my DH keeps joking about supermarkets should have aisles of weird things wives ask you to buy - like icing sugar and white chocolate chips (and anything else I ask for really)
