YABU = Robinsons Apple & Blackcurrant is the closest to the original item requested.

YANBU = Morrisons Apple & Pear is the closest to the item requested.

I always give very specific instructions in these circumstances. Sometimes the B. option might not be the (seemingly) obvious one or if the A. option isn't available I might rather nothing. Always best to say what to do if the A option is out of stock.

I often think that the "Brand or Flavour" dilemma drives some of my less acceptable substitutes, but I feel for the pickers - I would be paralysed by doubt & get the sack for being slow.

I would have (and frequently do have) an urgent phone call to ask which one I want. This is often accompanied by pics as he has, in the past, suffered my wrath if he gets it wrong.
However he is not very good at finding products and I am often told that what I want isn't in stock, as I don't always believe this I now get pics of empty shelves sent me
