A raku kiln.

scoobydoo1971 · 26/12/2021 17:58

Mine got me nothing...at all...so I dumped him today. He argued I was 'rich' and didn't need 'more stuff'...so romance is dead then. I feel ten years younger this evening having unladen myself of this man who I have supported, and done so much for. I have never encountered such a mean cold spirit deeply rooted inside an outwardly friendly and loving person. It takes a while to know someone properly. He claims to love me, but words are so easy.

Daisy Perfume, Air Pods, a book and chocolates. I’m very happy.

44PumpLane · 26/12/2021 18:04

A surprise Velvetiser which I'm thrilled with as have been making my Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate in the microwave up till now, and although I have been adamant its just as good, it's actually not!!

I also got a coffee table boom that I've been considering for a while but never mentioned, so very impressed with that.

Other than those 2 I got things I'd either specifically asked for or bought myself. Another coffee table book, adult lego, jewellery cleaner, Pandora earrings, neom candle to name a few.

Jeschara · 26/12/2021 18:06

A new phone and skin cream. Delighted with these.

stingofthebutterfly · 26/12/2021 18:07

Nothing, as requested. Likewise for him. We don't need more stuff.

IJoinedJustForThisThread · 26/12/2021 18:09

@MzMaria

New phone, smart watch, cooking things I wanted, luxury handmade coat, special umbrella, a professional chef knife from Japan.
My goodness! You have a very generous partner. I need to know what makes the umbrella “special”?
Vbree · 26/12/2021 18:09

A massage voucher I requested. Some cute extra bits and bobs adding up to £50. We both agreed on a budget for this.

irishfarmer · 26/12/2021 18:10

Some lovely thoughtful things, which did actually inc a small candle.

Why did he get you a candle? Just a plain no thought yankee candle or something? Do ye normally do big/ good gifts?

Ginger1982 · 26/12/2021 18:11

Bracelet and charms, perfume and pyjamas. Perfectly happy.

DH was actually really lovely to me this year. I got a glass mixing bowl for my kitchen aid, some Gucci perfume, Animal Crossing, washi tape and some pjs! It’s not a given, previous years I’ve got nothing so I’m appreciating it while I can 😄

Tohaveandtohold · 26/12/2021 18:14

We normally don’t buy gifts or most times, we just tell each other what we want. There has never been an element of surprise or disappointment.
It’s our 10th wedding anniversary just a few days before Christmas so he bought me a weighted piano. I’ve been learning to play the piano but I’ve been using a keyboard so I’m pretty pleased

merryhouse · 26/12/2021 18:15

@XiCi

We decided to just do stockings for each other this year. I got perfume, Charlotte Tilbury make up set, my fave Molton brown shower gel, a necklace I've wanted for a while, a couple of books, my favourite chocolates, a photography sphere lens and some crypto currency.
How very restrained. Just the little extras that make things sparkle, eh?

In the real world....

My husband bought me both series of "Jenny: the Doctor's Daughter" from Big Finish. They were on my suggestions list.

(You do realise that several of your stocking presents would each constitute a decent Present, don't you?)

SequinnedShawl · 26/12/2021 18:15

Nothing. He dislikes people celebrating Christmas or birthdays so engineers a row so he can opt out.

This may be the last time he pulls that trick on me.

Bigbouncingbaby · 26/12/2021 18:15

Washing machine !!! So excited want a new one … we don’t really bother either with presents so this was a treat xx

HeyMoana · 26/12/2021 18:16

Birkenstocks that I get every year, dungarees, Versace perfume and a couple of Moroccan hurricane lamps. He's excelled himself this year.

Benjispruce5 · 26/12/2021 18:16

Bottle of my favourite perfume, some shower gel and body lotion in the same perfume and a jumper I wanted.

Wowcherarestalkingme · 26/12/2021 18:19

Slippers, a candle, earrings, chocolate, pyjamas, Harry Potter socks and stationary and gardening gloves.
It’s my birthday and our anniversary in December so I have been very spoilt this month.
