@MrsDThomas

Nothing. We’ve never bought each other a Christmas present. Absolutely no point.

Avoids the disappointment of receiving shite.

How depressing.

@icedcoffees

£150 of Fat Face vouchers, which is what I asked for, so I'm happy :)
Aren't they closing the fat face shops? Can you use them online?
WarmSeaSwimmer · 26/12/2021 18:32

New Le Chameau walking boots and Finisterre waterproof jacket, warm bobble hat and cashmere gloves. Then it all became apparent why when he made an announcement that he's reserved a puppy for us from his sister's litter. I and the kids had been pleading for one of the puppies and he hadn't agreed, so I was very surprised and happy.

maddiemookins16mum · 26/12/2021 18:32

Dr Martens and a new dressing gown.

DeathWinsAGolfish · 26/12/2021 18:32

Georg Jensen Jewelery
Doc Marten Chelsea boots
Slow gin
Vintage Christmas decorations

I'm very lucky. Xmas Smile

I’m guessing the op isn’t so happy aith her candle and these answers are not making it better…

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/12/2021 18:33

Two bags full of cotton yarn in pinks, purples, oranges and yellow, so I can crochet a blanket. I do already own the European yarn mountain (as he has pointed out on many occasions), but none of it was right for this project, so he bought me the yarn I needed.

lonsdaleshorts · 26/12/2021 18:35

Slippers which I needed. A necklace and a bottle of wine. Delighted.

God that's depressing
rosegoldwatcher · 26/12/2021 18:36

A dress from Seasalt, fluffy slipper socks, a scented candle and a box of chocolates.

Very happy with all of them.

ToffeeForEveryone · 26/12/2021 18:36

Some supermarket tealights that he picked up with DS (5) who was insisting they had to get something to wrap for me under the tree as everyone else had something.

And an IOU on a scrap of paper for a "one night stay somewhere nice of your choosing" - i.e. if I organise it and sort childcare. I won't be rushing TBH.

I did get presents from "Santa" that I had bought myself this year as DH has form. But frankly every year it makes me feel like shit that he doesn't bother at all.

Elphame · 26/12/2021 18:37

A small kiln but it was a specific request!

GenialHarryGr0ut · 26/12/2021 18:37

Diamond earrings - I love them.

ChristmasTreeBee · 26/12/2021 18:38

He did really well this year as I said I didn’t really want much.

He got me a fairfax and favor coat I have been looking at for months but decided it’s too expensive to have, He got my wedding ring was polished for me it’s now back to how it looked when we got married 🥰 a pair of trainers I wanted (was waiting for the sales) and a fork which says I forking love you which has made me chuckle on and off all day.

Twolostsoulsswimminginafishbow · 26/12/2021 18:39

Coat
Leather backpack
Huge vintage Cornishware teapot with cups and saucers.
Perfect.

tillyandmilly · 26/12/2021 18:39

A pair of boots from eBay that I liked - also paying for a week in a self catering apartment - I am on an NHS salary so hardly have any money after bills each month!

ChiefAdjusterOfRubensShorts · 26/12/2021 18:40

Everything that I asked for, plus a new engagement ring in January when his bonus is paid.

Staffy1 · 26/12/2021 18:40

We decided to get our own. He always wants something expensive, I don’t, so I prefer it this way.

Merryoldgoat · 26/12/2021 18:41

Diamond ring, voucher for beauty treatment, leather notebook, fabric, a book about economics, fancy chocolate.

christmaswrappingglitter · 26/12/2021 18:41

A candle for me, too, and some tickets to a comedy show that I have already booked tickets for... and the ones I booked are better, so he's going to have to get his money back.

liliainterfrutices · 26/12/2021 18:42

Nothing. He said he thought we’d agreed nothing. I would never agree to such a thing, but gifts and festivities are not his forte, so I had ensured I had a box of chocolates and new book, so it was fine. I only got him a book.

Next year I am going to buy myself a small treat every month so as to have a nice stocking. No other fucker is going to see to this.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 26/12/2021 18:42

Perfume, a new phone, a ring, an oodie, slippers, and a couple of new hoodies.

littlepeas · 26/12/2021 18:42

Book (bit of a crap one..)
Big box of chocs that I like
Massage (a real one - not from him Grin)

littlepeas · 26/12/2021 18:43

I should say that he also bought me a painting in December.

What was she expecting? There seems to be a bit of a thing on here at the moment where we all have to wallow in shared misery. I'm sorry things haven't gone well for people, but to be frank I'm taking any joy where I can find it at the moment and refuse to be guilt tripped for it.
