I particularly love all the '(asked for)' to justify the mundane presents.

A pair of cheap earrings - he felt bad that they were cheap, but requested as they are the only brand that don't make my ears feel like they are on fire....!!

I bought him a Lacoste polo shirt and both of us a big bar of chocolate each

two necklaces, earrings, a very nice scarf, two lots of perfumes, socks, my favourite moisturiser, some charlotte tilbury lip gloss and concealer, two new jumpers.

I don’t think it’s an age thing. A dry robe is a waterproof coat lined with fleecy material you can use as a towel. I’ve started sea swimming & it’s perfect for getting out & getting warm fast when it’s cold, wet and windy. Lots of the people who swim locally have them and he’d noticed and thought I might like one. My poppy dress is just a dress with poppies on & the ice dip social may be something specific to the local company that runs them but it’s a day out where you go in the cold sea, then a sauna repeatedly and then they feed you and you get a tent to relax in with food & drinks

A Ralph Lauren jumper, which might have been nice, but it's awful, too small, clearly from a charity shop or eBay, complete with a weird blue stain on the back and what looks like dried up gravy on both sleeves.....
