Top three options if that was the limit for Xmas dinner?

Mine is probably parsnips, nice carrots and broccoli.

I know I'm going to change my mind when I see other responses.

I eat broccoli pretty much every day so definitely not that. Roast carrots, roast parsnips, and Brussels.

MadeOfStarStuff · 19/12/2021 22:49

Not counting potatoes which are the best but not 1 of your 5 a day

roasted parsnips
Carrot and swede mash
Roasted carrots

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/12/2021 22:58

Sprouts ( in cream and bacon)
Carrots (in butter and cumin)
Parsnips (half cremated but never mind)
This is what we literally always have

I am not including roasties BECAUSE THEY ARE CENTRAL

ExquisitelyDecorated · 19/12/2021 23:00

Sprouts, carrots (steamed not glazed) and peppery mashed swede.

I will eat parsnips so long as they aren't glazed but cauliflower cheese has no place in a roast dinner. and I'm not keen on braised red cabbage.

TheHoptimist · 19/12/2021 23:01

Green beans, broccoli, peas

What we have is
roast potatoes, parsnips, Green beans, broccoli, peas, carrots, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower cheese, swede, maybe mango tout

Personally loathe the cornucopia of items that ends up on your plate on Christmas Day, too much, just too much. Vegetables usually stir fried brussels with bacon and garlic, roast spuds and something orange like carrots or butternut squash to break up the beige. DP has parsnips as well because that's his thing.

Save room for Heston's clementine Christmas pudding and big dollop of boozy cream. Yum.

Longingforatikihut · 19/12/2021 23:10

Excluding potatoes (of which there must be mash and toasties)
