Has anyone seen the new series yet? Well, first two episodes?
Just felt a bit low watching it 🤷🏻‍♀️Eurgh, why do we have to age!

Oh my God, YES. I'd watch this. And I bet Kim Cattrall would do it. We'd treat Samantha with all the respect she deserves.

If it's just one series I know I will enjoy it. But all they seem to be doing is setting up Carrie to start all over again with her search for love.

They should end with Carrie making the decision to stay single and to find happiness elsewhere.

I tried to watch it with DP but he looked so miserable that I let him off the hook. It was pretty cringey and unfunny, but I will attempt again without him and give it a chance to get into its stride and up.

SATC was so fantastic for women when it came out, I think we can all forget that with all of its issues. But as a teen girl in a small town, SATC gave me permission to be sexual without being “slut” shamed, and that was ground breaking for me at the time.

I think it’s GREAT to have older women on TV, it’s only a good thing and the more audiences get used to aging faces the better for everyone.

However it really does go to show that lip fillers are a bad idea, just like the friends reunion where Lisa Kudrow looked far and away the best with her natural face (and I would argue that Ross’s Mum looked even better!). Miranda who has had the least obvious work done, looks the best. Fillers don’t make you look younger when overdone - they just make you look strange. May it be a lesson to us all!

I think, whatever about the rights and wrongs of fillers, the way Kirsten David looks now is entirely in keeping with how Charlotte York would also look at 55.

If you walked down Park Avenue every second woman in her 50s would have that face!

I've never watched SATC but I saw a trailer where SJP says 'Hello lovers' to her shoes - it gave me the creeps, yeuch.
Obviously, I won't be watching this series either.

I was more upset by the fact they killed of Big! We have waited so long for Carrie to be happy so it was a shock. Charlotte looks weird.. shame they can grow old gracefully! Carrie and Miranda look great. Steve however.. why does he talk like that?! Seems really weedy and creepy!!

Can't believe fully-grown adults click on a thread about an already aired episode and get angry about spoilers. I love SATC and don't have access to hbo max right now so I read all the reviews including spoilers just to follow along. Knowing what happens won't spoil the show once I get around to watching.

Big's death made sense as he had heart surgery in one of the earlier episodes. Carrie visited him in the Four Seasons Hotel where he was recovering. This might have been when he was living in California already or around the Petrovsky phase. If he had heart problems bad enough to warrant surgery aged 40-50 then adding another 17 years on top isn't unreasonable.

I completely agree. Somehow I feel she chose not to be involved, rather than the others chose not to involve her. If so she's very wise.

I've only seen the first one but I think what's missing is the sandwich thing of having your own life/ kids grown up etc but also looking after parents / having to deal with ageing parents - I know it's not at all sexy but it's about their lives! Though I don't recall them ever mentioning parents in the original series actually come to think of it

Ageing is a privilege denied to many. I couldn’t give a toss about “looking older”. I know too many people who didn’t get the chance to go grey, bald, whatever.

If we grow old naturally, we are criticised. If we get work done, we are criticised.

That’s what’s fucking depressing.

I predict she will find a new boyfriend. My other predictions:

OFC Miranda will take to the bottle and have an affair with Che to be "woke"
Carrie's podcast will become inexplicably popular
She will discover that Big had a secret love child or was broke.

I also found so much of it at odds with the pandemic, even though they couldn't stop mentioning it. Who wears Manolos or buys De La Renta for a teen in the pandemic? And how do they all afford such big apartments with walk in closets in Manhattan?
