Has anyone seen the new series yet? Well, first two episodes?
Just felt a bit low watching it 🤷🏻‍♀️Eurgh, why do we have to age!

@Whataday21

I saw the catty (geddit?) comments, but thought that the flowers were such a beautiful touch and really paid tribute to her. It was a message of love and friends. The second episode was so well done and very emotional.
See I thought the flowers at the funeral was another dig at Cattrell. KC brother died and SJP left a comment on KC Instagram, KC hit back that they were not friends and implied not to use her brother's death for good pr. I thought the way Carrie accepted Samantha's flowers was a smug little dig about how a kind person would graciously accept condolences, even when against what they really want. (I may need to see a physiotherapist after that giant stretch)

I think this season is going to end with Carrie trying to contact Samantha, they will try to use fan pressure to get her to agree to season two.

WheelieBinPrincess · 12/12/2021 16:04

@Dontbeme

Yep I thought exactly that. Like, you said no flowers but JUST LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL THRY ARE. And then Carrie smiled and nodded and was very gracious like that’s how she thought you’d be in that situation.

Ha! Now Chris Noth has done an ad for Peleton as himself. Hilarious. Trying to avoid litigation one presumes.

Might have been a quick off the bat thing to capitalise on the publicity. Peleton got stung last year when they released the Xmas and with the bloke buying a peleton for his wife's Christmas present and it was slammed as being sexist. Ryan Reynolds got the actress from the peleton ad to film an ad for his gin company (implying she'd left the peleton husband) and got it out within 48 hours or something insane. Peleton might have been quite happy to have the chance to do something similar themselves this year!
SirSamuelVimes · 13/12/2021 13:11

Ha!! I've just look on Instagram and the Chris Noth Peleton ad was made by Ryan Reynolds' company. Xmas Grin

SirSamuelVimes · 13/12/2021 13:12

Here it is.

Newgirls · 13/12/2021 13:22

I liked the episodes! Great casting. Plots made sense to me - Charlotte and the recital obsession, Miranda wanting to study and being the oldest one there, Big and his cycling like every 50+ bloke I know, squabbling couples. Very watchable

AllyBama · 13/12/2021 13:23

Apparently peleton knew the bike was being used in the episode but not in what context and since the airing their shares have dropped 11%. Cue the PR flapping.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/12/2021 13:57

Maybe get this moved to tv addicts 😄 @Winterofdiscontent

If the show has been shown on tv, which it was as Thur 8am and repeat Thur 9/10pm

And you posted early hours of Friday

Then no need for people to Moan about spoilers

Don’t click on a thread if you haven’t seen the programme

Fwiw I posted on the one in tv

E1 a bit cringey and yes work has been done but why not age gracefully

E2 as I’m a widow, they showed IMO a good funeral /wake

People do sob, go to the bar before funeral etc

And always that friend, bless Charlotte

SammyScrounge · 17/12/2021 02:12

I thought tonight's show was dire. The one liners were weak, Carrie was haggard looking, and Che the comedian was a foul mouthed bore,.And the trans gender stuff was so obviously playing to the zeitgeist, so obviously trying to get down with the kids..

ISpyCobraKai · 17/12/2021 02:36

What the hell have I just watched?
It was dire.

avamiah · 17/12/2021 02:47

I was a huge fan of SATC and loved everything about it but for me Big and Samantha just made the show.I mean who didn’t love Big, and who remembers the scene with Samantha and the “suishi”?.
Then to kill Big off after how long it took them to get together is just ridiculous, they could of waited till the last episode and for Samantha to be in London and a no show is just stupid as let’s be honest she was the Sex in SACT.
So it’s a 2/10 or a 1 star review from me.

Treez21 · 17/12/2021 07:38

If they could lose the identity politics it might stand a chance. The self obsession of Che is cringey. Is she 13?? Bore off.

WheelieBinPrincess · 17/12/2021 07:46

Ugh Che’s ‘comedy’ routine and the way the three of them stood Misty eyed and inspired in the crowd was cringe galore.

Miranda looked amazing in the jumpsuit I thought.

CurzonDax · 17/12/2021 11:13

Just caught up and watched all 3 episodes last night. My biggest issue is definitely the woke-ness. It's just trying too hard. I know that the original series was criticised for not being diverse enough, and it seems like they are trying to over-correct that every 30 seconds.

Other than that, I quite enjoyed it. Is it as amazing and 'out there' like the original? No. Is it something that you can watch, and not take too seriously? Yes.

Charlotte's storyline seemed to make the most sense to me. I can definitely imagine her being the pushy/overachieving mother, and ending up with the two daughters she has - one who accepts it, and is an overachiever (I mean Lily's piano playing!), and the other who wants to rebel/be different to what her mum wants.

Some proper cringe moments, but hey ho (I didn't like the scene where Miranda joined her first class though - O thought that was a bit ott).

So agree. And the three of them looking on admiringly as if she were Maya Angelou....

I thought the third episode was MUCH better. It felt more like the characters that we knew - especially the bit where they are stalking Natasha and she sees them.

But I agree, the character of Che is utterly dreadful. That character is literally ruining the show, and I usually love Sara Ramierez.

I don't like what they are implying about Miranda suddenly wanting to have a fling - I understand that Cynthia Nixon is married to a woman, but this doesn't feel true to the character of Miranda at all.

Anjo2011 · 17/12/2021 11:55

Enjoying it so far but agree with that the Che character isn’t doing it for me. It’s so OTT. Loved Sara Ramirez in greys anatomy but not enjoying her at all in this. I don’t mind the actual story line about Miranda trying to free herself but it’s to obvious and yes , dare I say, Woke.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 17/12/2021 12:00

Kim was not only the token good-looking one, she was the only one who was a fairly phenomenal actress. An already pretty superficial show, it's just got zero depth or interest now, for me. Watched the first episode, and won't bother further.

I read about SATC 2 rather than saw it and am unsurprised Kim didn't want to reprise the role, even leaving to the side all the crap she apparently endured from SJP.

PavlovaTheRainbow · 17/12/2021 21:00

Well a few predictions from here came true in episode three. Natasha given hundreds of thousands in the will, Miranda in a sexless marriage and accused of being an alcoholic.
It’s not getting any better is it?

ChimChimeny · 17/12/2021 21:05

I agree that the stalking was classic SATC but the rest was pretty shit unfortunately.

The only good bit in Che's 'comedy' routine was at the end when she said if she had a dick she'd have had her special 5 years earlier

WheelieBinPrincess · 17/12/2021 21:33

I had to laugh when Charlotte said to Carrie ‘before the performance, I noticed Miranda drink two glasses of wine’

As if that was shocking 😂 I’d have needed a bottle at least to psych myself up for that 😂

ToughTittyWhompus · 17/12/2021 22:01

2 glasses of wine would have me on my arse Grin but my friends regularly knock back a bottle each when we go out for dinner. I don’t drink at all but I’m not concerned about their drinking!

lightisnotwhite · 17/12/2021 22:17

I always thought Samatha was the a raunchy women. A bit cool girl. The rest of the gang had foibles with men but she was just about the sex ( any very nedy in that department).
Never found that believable actually.
