@Onlinedilema

She is the scapegoat. A party was held at Boris Johnson's house. 2 options either he didn't know (really? It's his house ffs) Or he was there and fully aware. The man is a self entitled twat with no regard for the common person. None of this government give one single fuck about anyone else. They don't care about you or I. I've watched a clip of Rees Mogg talking at a party laughing and joking. He should go. Aww well as long as people keep voting them in they will carry on like this.
Number ten Downing Street is s government owned building ,which houses political offices ,it also has a flat that the prime minister can live in whilst in office ,it's not Boris,s personal residence.
Whammyyammy · 09/12/2021 10:04

She will disappear from the limelight for a bit, but probably still be on govt payroll, or be back on it v soon

Pinksloth · 09/12/2021 10:05

@Ereshkigalangcleg

I agree with Red. I don't feel sorry for her, and the video is awful. But she should not be the only one to go.
This!
Pawprintpaper · 09/12/2021 10:05

@OldaRailer

It's obvious why the plan of her taking press conferences didn't go ahead.
Witty looked angry on the press conference last night. Can you imagine him sharing a podium with her
OldaRailer · 09/12/2021 10:05

There was the generalisation about unemployed people when the young mother was in work. Shoddy really.

Cyrilgoggin · 09/12/2021 10:06

Who says she wasn't at the party? Her - laughing as she said it? I wouldn't be surprised if she was.

And how the hell can a 23 year old be a special adviser to government ministers?

The world's gone mad. Absolutely mad.

OldaRailer · 09/12/2021 10:08

Poor Whitty.
Guess they couldn't risk Van Tam. Wink
Though it was also celebrate vaccines day hence Vallance.

ArabellaScott · 09/12/2021 10:09

@RedToothBrush

She looked dreadful on that video. Its undeniable. She had to go.

However she wasn't at the party.

The bloke in the video with her, hasn't resigned.
The partygoers haven't resigned.
Those other people in senior positions who knew about the party haven't resigned.

She really is a scapegoat still.

Yep.
onlychildhamster · 09/12/2021 10:09

She was asking a woman with a child to live in her mum's 2 bed flat?

I live in a 2 bed flat and I did live with my MIL until we could buy our flat. But it would not have been workable if I had a child. my MIL lives in a 3 bed victorian terrace but she did have other children. How can she assume that (a) the mother doesn't have other children, (b) the size of the flat- 2 bed flats can be 100 sq m (same size as a lot of terraces) but they can also be very small with a box room as a second bedroom, (c) the family relationships.

So so thick.

Twilight7777 · 09/12/2021 10:10

She should have been sacked, not given the option to resign

lonelyapple · 09/12/2021 10:10

I am surprised she disapproves. So many Tories are landlords and love being able to squeeze single mums and their kids into their shitty, overpriced properties. Ironically "housing benefit" ends up going to the landlord in a lot of cases, so it should be called "landlord benefit" = socialism for the rich.

TheresAStarmanWaitingInTheSky · 09/12/2021 10:10

According to Google, Rishi Sunak was best man at her wedding and they are godparents to each other's children. I'm sure she will have another job soon. Hmm

GreetingsAndSalutations · 09/12/2021 10:10

I don’t feel sorry for her at all, she’s a fucking cunt, but she’s not the only cunt that needs to resign or better yet sacked in as humiliating way as is possible.

As an aside that video is horrible. AS really is a smug, stupid witch. The young woman featured was a lot more polite than I would have been when I found myself in a similar situation to hers.

Completely agree! They should not keep giving these tw*ts an easy out
OldaRailer · 09/12/2021 10:12

Housing benefit benefits landlords.🤷

MindTheGapMoveAlong · 09/12/2021 10:12

Got to hand it to Boris he’s doing his utmost to distract us proles from the issues -but Carrie dropping another sprog just won’t cut it.

supermoonrising · 09/12/2021 10:12

@onlychildhamster
Not thick exactly. Just following the zeitgeist of the times, “blame the poor, praise the rich” etc.
“You’re not only poor, but you’re lazy and immoral aren’t you?”

TrashyPanda · 09/12/2021 10:13

She was on a salary of £125k (from the public purse) for a job she was incapable of doing, hence why she never actually appeared as govt. spokesperson. What a fucking joke. What a slap in the face for all those on furlough/laid off and struggling to survive.

And as for BJ spending £2.5 million on a briefing room, that is hardly used… except for a showing of the latest Bond film for BJ and his cronies. How the fuck did he get away with that?

The man has no integrity, no financial savvy, no credibility and is a public laughing stock. But if you are his mate, or pals with his wife, then you are sitting pretty

Carrie wanted some wine at the next cheese and wine party.
OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/12/2021 10:14

I don't feel sorry for her. She used her apology time to talk about how it would affect her and how proud she was of other stuff she has done.
Tories saw her as the weakest link so sacrificed her. It won't wash.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 09/12/2021 10:15

Crocodile (non) tears.

She looked so smug in the original video. Whether there was a party or not, it was a STUPID thing to 'joke' about. She should have had far more sense, so no, I don't feel sorry for her.

Personally I think
It's probably a case of 'shit we have to be seen doing something! If you resign now you can come back in x role next year with x amount extra money' type thing.

The child being discussed in that video will be or almost be a teenager now. I'd love to hear how the woman & child are foung

Also I'm sure there are other videos in the intervening 10 years that could be used to show her complete lack of empathy or any of her other less than lovely traits, why drag that poor woman back into it?

Cyrilgoggin · 09/12/2021 10:15

We, the public, are paying for these 'special advisors'. I don't hold anything against Ed Oldfield personally as I don't know him, but he is a Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, no less. What on earth can a young man in his early 20s be advising the PM on? Is there a possibility his wealthy father is a Tory donor, and so a job is found for him?

Was he interviewed for the post in accordance with the principles we should expect in the public sector?

Government has not always been as corrupt as this.

She's a scapegoat .
