@ItsSnowJokes

I have never felt sorry for her, she is an entitled, privileged twat. She laid down with dogs (to get 125k a year for a non job) and she came out with fleas. More heads should role but I think it's unlikely as senior tories think just the 1 head is enough on this. All a bunch of self serving, money grabbing cunts.
^^ this exactly. Well put @ItsSnowJokes

Nasty Nasty interview... what a lovely person she isn't, judging that poor girl in a situation she's not likely to find herself in... 🌹
crimsonlake · 09/12/2021 21:01

i do not imagine for a second that she was crying over her regret for that appalling video of her laughing...but crying for herself and the loss of her £125k salary.

Poetrypatty · 09/12/2021 21:24

She seemed to be stepping out of a very beautiful and expensive house so I didn't feel that sorry for her. She's probably been given a new job by a Tory already or if not she'll have one by next week.

Fluffster20 · 09/12/2021 21:24

I love how she’s described as an entitled privileged twat….when she’s interviewing a woman who chose to have a baby knowing she couldn’t fully support herself and her child and then ended up having to take handouts from the state. Somehow that doesn’t class as entitlement…

Oh of course because it’s not her fault that she ended up in that position is it? There’s always some excuse for you if you don’t come from a privileged background…cause you know privileged people don’t have to deal with abusive relatives nor do they have any idea what it means to work hard for their education and profession right? Sure the opportunities might be better but to realise those I’m sure takes bloody hard work….but yeah, who cares about that right cause as long as you’re rich you’re basically scum and everything you achieved was because it was handed to you.

I’m not from a privileged background, I’ve had to make sacrifices and work bloody hard for everything I have which is why I can’t stand any form of entitlement.

I do feel a bit sorry for her. Clearly the scapegoat and I couldn’t give a shit what they did last year …we all know people who broke the rules last Christmas but most likely won’t be running to the tabloids with the details…I’m more interested in the new variant and what it means for us now.

@Fluffster20

Careful. What you’ve said there basically means you think that having children should be the privilege of the wealthy or at least financially secure.

Do you know what that makes you, holding beliefs like that?

Thecurliestwurly · 09/12/2021 21:50

@BlameItOnTheBlackStar

That's the job; when the government looks bad, you take the fall.

That said, the entire government is a barrel of cunts, and it takes some doing to appear like one of the worst. Underqualified undeserving friends promoted to high places everywhere you turn.

Their time really is up. I hope.

Totally agree.

Thanks for sharing the video. I felt slightly sorry for her, but after seeing that, absolutely not. She was horrid and condescending, and seems utterly out of touch with reality.

Luredbyapomegranate · 09/12/2021 21:59

Very likely she and her husband got help with their nice north London house from family, on top of their educations which gave them connections and a ladder to well paid jobs.

Don't feel sorry for her at all. Do think she was a scapegoat, but she would know that was part of the deal, and she knows she'll be able to pop up again. Also think that while her distress was likely genuine, she could have controlled it and choose not to in the hope it might get her a bit of sympathy.

Builderscrack · 09/12/2021 22:11

Missing the point entirely but she’s 41? Only FOURTY ONE?? (Googled it after Pp said she has the face she deserves 😬). Looks a hell of a lot older. Must be very ageing regurgitating all that bile.

1dayatatime · 09/12/2021 22:15

I did feel a tad sorry for her until I saw her tearful resignation speech where I felt that maybe as a "totally composed, unflappable, professional" spokeswoman that she was hired to be, she did use the tears somewhat in a bid for sympathy.

Look you screwed up, we all screw up so take it on the chin in public and save the tears for when you get home to a big bottle of white, the world's biggest bar of Galaxy and a snuggy sofa.

It does however sit very uneasily with me that the only person to have resigned over this is a woman who wasn't even at the bloody party. Whilst a bunch of smug men who did attend and asked her the questions hang her out to dry.

longwayoff · 09/12/2021 22:22

Please explain why you support landlords pocketing vast quantities of housing benefit claims by those unfortunate people who can only find uneconomic jobs that force them to claim UC. That UC is subsidising business owners whose unviable business is only propped up by a vast amount of taxpayers money. Yet the scrounger is, apparently, the claimant. Dear me.

People often forget that landlords these days don't even need to be able to afford to buy a home, they only need to afford the mortgage. The tenants buy the house. The tenants on UC buy the house. UC Buys the house. UC funded by tax payers buys the house. Landlord then sells it, pockets the money, little cost, tax payer funded, windfall.. Yet the tenants are scroungers.. weird.
the80sweregreat · 09/12/2021 22:52

To be fair, I thought she was younger than 41!
(As I've aged everyone else looks younger though!!)
Still, she'll get a new job soon.
It's not what you know after all.

StoneofDestiny · 09/12/2021 23:02

Rees Mogg has been joking about the 'parties' too now - does anybody think he'll resign? Doubt it.
Stratton - another useful idiot.

CaitoftheCantii · 09/12/2021 23:22

@Fluffster20

Is that you, Allegra?

awonderfuladventure · 09/12/2021 23:30

Don't feel sorry for her one bit. Those crocodile tears were only for herself. She didn't give a shit about everyone who died when she was laughing about breaking the rules. These past few years have been horrendous and being led by corrupt, immoral, selfish crooks has destroyed this country. So embarrassed to be British at the moment. I'm glad she's gone and hope the rest of the scumbags resign or are sacked.

blubberyboo · 09/12/2021 23:32

Maybe she’ll learn a lesson in solidarity with other women who are the only persons to be left holding the baby looking for suitable and safe housing, whilst smug men who impregnated them run off into the sunset leaving them hanging out to dry

Yep, my thoughts exactly. That video posted by OP was very revealing of her attitudes. It doesn't seem to occur to AS that the young woman might not have a great relationship with her mother, or that her mother may not have been willing to have her daughter live with her, along with a baby.
Cyrilgoggin · 10/12/2021 07:59

Her tears were embarrassing. She was In the wrong and is supposed to be a professional journalist and spokesperson. She should have spoken clearly and professionally and saved her weeping and feeling sorry for herself for her sofa. Lots of people, lots of women, face difficult situations and have to be professional. She was like a teenager.

Thankfully your non sensical support reasons of support for her her are in the minority.

Sadly, her tears have set women in the work place back.

They weren’t out of remorse and she has reacted in an embarrassing way which reflects professionally on women in general.

Sceptre86 · 10/12/2021 08:23

She is a scapegoat. I don't feel sorry for her (she s a tory and I dislike them all) but her career is screwed whilst that of her colleagues that attended the party isn't. That is not fair.
