Will Johnson be gone before Christmas or after?

Sarahlou63 · 07/12/2021 22:38

I'm thinking the 1922 committee grandees will run out of patience fairly soon. So will Johnson stand aside to be a better parent before Christmas or will he continue to drag his party into the shit into 2022?

YABU - hangs on for grim death

YANBU - Who the fuck is Johnson?

'Boris is permanently sniggering and unprofessional.Do you hold him to the same standard?'

I have never seen him snigger about the pandemic.

I do hold him to the same standard yes. Still awaiting the incriminating party footage not the Mirror's lame zoom quiz featuring a bottle of sanitizer not 'bubbly'.

In that case, what was the nonsense about freedom day, if not simply laughing at the public?

You can't seriously think he believed that the pandemic was over?

Malibuismysecrethome · 13/12/2021 12:23

He’s emotionally abusing the whole country

He is acting on an ever changing situation fgs, so he wasn't 'laughing at the public' when epidemiologists and other experts told him the risk was low in July so restrictions could be lifted, however he doesn't have a crystal ball and didn't know we'd have omicron in Dec hence the need to push boosters etc.

You must have more access to the scientists advising the government than I do, but those who spoke in public were very definitely not saying it in July. Indeed the WHO said the UK and freedom day was a threat to the whole world. One does not need a crystal ball to know that virus mutate.

Are you saying that NBC are misquoting here?

"the U.K.'s chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, has warned of potential "trouble,""

Oh look, it also shows Johnson laughing at us and thinking that the isolation rules don't apply to him, who would have thought it!

Malibuismysecrethome · 13/12/2021 13:32

What about the well publicised summit in Cornwall where people from all over the World gathered. There was no social distancing or mask wearing to be seen in many of the photos.

Strangely followed by a spike in cases in Cornwall, who would have thought it.
FortVictoria · 13/12/2021 13:44

@BoredZelda

He's got an 80 seat majority

Until the voters who handed him that victory start bleating then he's pretty safe

Not necessarily. Thatcher won a 102 seat majority, she was gone within 3 years. It isn’t about the voters or the public in general, it’s about who is prepared to stab him in the back.

Michael Gove can step forward for his second stab attempt then :)
Hemingwayscatz · 13/12/2021 14:01

I know a lot of people stopped taking it so seriously the second time around. First few months last year then sure, everyone I knew personally took it very seriously. After they returned our ‘freedoms’ then tried to take them away again, people cared a lot less. I don’t think the people I know are alone with this, I think public support started to dissipate this time last year and it’s only got worse ever since.

As soon as they started introducing pathetic things like ‘bubbles’ people started bending the rules to suit them. The Christmas parties and Cummings have all but ruined any authority the government once had. There’s just no way anyone would adhere to new rules if they suddenly decide to cancel Christmas again now. Forget another lockdown as well, not happening.

Apart from anything else, how has the Prime Minister got time to play quiz master? In the middle of everything that was going on last December?

threebillboards · 13/12/2021 14:35

Sadly no. He's such a joke

He is so talented he can play quizmaster, ring master, class clown and village idiot all at the same time.
Katieandthekids · 13/12/2021 15:59

@JazzyBBG

Who would they replace him with though? Bloody Gove?!
Rishi?
Katieandthekids · 13/12/2021 16:01

They will replace him and the conservatives will win a general election because Labours entire identity is build around slagging off the tories but not coming up with any of their own ideas

Peregrina · 13/12/2021 16:54

Not so, Labour came up with some good ideas but the Tories filch them when it suits.

Would you care to share some of the Tories ideas other than Brexit, a bunch of slogans, lying and enriching their mates?
Franklin12 · 13/12/2021 17:40

Labour are a mess. Raynor is a liability and Starmer has been a great disappointment. Labour have sadly been taken over by Momentum and woke ideas and whilst they are popular with the young I bet half of those dont actually end up voting.

"They will replace him and the conservatives will win a general election because Labours entire identity is build around slagging off the tories but not coming up with any of their own ideas"

Couldnt agree more.... Can you imagine if Corbyn and McDonnell were in power. They would still be deciding which vaccine to use... realistically the UK will NEVER vote in such a left wing party and Labour's position on women and safe places is a joke. Yet they continue with this idealogy. Its almost as though they dont want to win.

Labour need another Blair and there is literally no one. So they will continue in opposition for the foreseeable future.

Peregrina · 13/12/2021 19:44

Corbyn and McDonnell would have got lucky in the way Johnson did - good scientists to develop vaccines, and the NHS to roll it out.

I always laugh when i read this sort of stuff, its the only thing to do.

Instead of judging Johnson on what he has achieved in 2.5 years as our PM, we get ".... but Corbyn/McDonald"

Who the fuck cares? its 2022 (almost) not December 2019.

He ignored Whitty in the Summer, didn't give a fuck about 150 deaths per day, 7000 in hospital and 1000/2000 in ICU or an NHS on its knees with a non functioning AE and Ambulance service but the moment Omicron comes along, despite the data from South Africa he jumps on the bandwagon to avoid scrutiny.

The guy is a monster.

I also notice the talk of independent inquiries into his handling of the pandemic has gone away too.

MarshaBradyo · 13/12/2021 20:21

He ignored Whitty in the Summer which summer? And what do you mean

julieca · 13/12/2021 20:23

Starmer pissed off Momentum precisely because lots of them were expelled from the Labour Party under his watch.
I read the many complaints on twitter.
Starmer is a centrist, its why those on the very left hate him.

XingMing · 13/12/2021 20:58

Will take you on: who in the current version of the Labour party has a vision of a Labour government that you would consider electable? Given that Corbyn was a bust and Starmer isn't pulling a crowd of enthusiasts?

HeadPain · 13/12/2021 21:03

Boris "let the bodies pile high in their thousands, no more lockdowns!" Johnson should've gone after that comment, maybe he would if there was undeniable proof. There were multiple witnesses though who heard him say it though so whyyy did it not matter ???? www.itv.com/news/2021-04-26/robert-peston-boris-johnson-did-make-bodies-pile-high-in-their-thousands-comment

Cummings confirmed it, and yes I believe him. Boris smirked when asked about it, as usual. m.youtube.com/watch?v=R-XdQFJ4I7Y

I don't know why we keep keep letting him get away with it. There should be continuous protests against him, but can't really because of covid. Gary Neville of all people was talking about organising one. mobile.twitter.com/GNev2/status/1469269422787465227
