YANBU He's lying, there was a party.

Don’t uses the trivial card. It’s another lie again. It’s another Liberty again. One rule for them and the wealthy, and another for us plebs.

He makes me sick.

Grawlix · 07/12/2021 23:31

It’s not trivial at all. We could only see a beloved uncle for 5 minutes during his last days as that is all the time we were allowed to visit. We were not allowed to hold a wake or even a funeral tea at his funeral

I second this. My father also died last winter. He was in hospital, alone, for two weeks and we weren't allowed to visit him at all because of the risk of Covid. He was frightened, vulnerable and thought we'd abandoned him. Then he died, and the mourners weren't even allowed to gather together for a cup of tea after the funeral.

Then someone on here says they 'don't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare' that this grotesque bunch in government is lying about having a jolly party when the rest of us were dealing with the lonely deaths of our beloved family members. Shame on you. Shame on you.

rrhuth · 07/12/2021 23:37

It's so trivial. So many other serious issues to investigate

I thoroughly disagree - character matters and this constant lying and corruption is dragging the whole country down.

BobbieT1999 · 07/12/2021 23:40

Definitely lying - Boris wouldn't know what truth is if it smacked him round the face and danced about naked in glow-in-the-darl paint.

And it does matter.

parietal · 07/12/2021 23:42

there is now footage from the actual party on twitter

thecatfromjapan · 07/12/2021 23:44

I'm just going to repeat this, from Notinthestairs:

Surely a basic expectation of any government is that they abide by the laws they introduce?

What the fuck happened to the U.K. where we no longer expect that?

And where people insist it's 'trivial' when the senior members of government don't follow it's legislation?

How did we become so downtrodden and willing to put up with being treated with such utter contempt?

It's baffling.

logsonlogsoff · 07/12/2021 23:44

@parietal it’s not but it is that shiny shit taking the piss out of it and the fuss

YouGotThisKeepGoing · 07/12/2021 23:47

I just hope he looked better dressed up as Santa at the party than he did dressed up as a copper the other day.

Thinkbiglittleone · 07/12/2021 23:48

I don't believe a word that leaves that mans lips,

Malibuismysecrethome · 07/12/2021 23:50

Wow! that footage they are finished now surely

Glitteringduck · 08/12/2021 00:01

There was a party.. they know the plandemic is overblown cod shite. The law meant we had to stay home away from our friends and family while they had "secret" parties. LOADS of politicians and celebs did. Mr Hancock didn't give a crap either while having his affair. Honestly if anyone believes the government at this point then they're mad.

madisonbridges · 08/12/2021 00:09

Did he deny there was a party? I thought he'd admitted there was a party but said no rules were broken.

powershowerforanhour · 08/12/2021 00:11

They reached the "Four legs good, two legs better" stage ages ago and do not give a toss if any plebs believe them or not. In fact they're probably having a good old snigger about it. They're the kind of people, and are friends with the kind of people, who as students set light to £50 notes in front of tramps and they still have that mindset.
Crystal clear footage could come out of them all playing spin the bittle and snorting coke directly out of each other's nostrils and they still wouldn't GAF.

Booklover3 · 08/12/2021 00:18

This is how I feel and I personally think it should be Christmas number 1!

userlotsanumbers · 08/12/2021 00:25

If his lips are moving he's lying.

At the same time: what am I being distracted from?

KrispyKale · 08/12/2021 00:26

It's not trivial.

TrishM80 · 08/12/2021 00:27

Boris Johnson was, is, and always will be, a lying scumbag.

AmIgoinghomeforXmas · 08/12/2021 00:42

No, his lips are moving.

But I agree that serious stuff is going on while this being discussed.

SusieBob · 08/12/2021 00:59

The fact that people think that the uk has a goverment which has been proven to be full of corrupt, self-serving wankers who can't even be bothered to follow their own rules is "trivial" is profoundly depressing.

There is a basic standard we should expect. It's not trivial to be outraged when that standard is not so much broken but willfully smashed into pieces.

Thedogscollar · 08/12/2021 02:53

@derxa

I don't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare
You might not care but it seems like the vast majority do.

What is so trivial about it when the whole country was in lockdown with all that a full lockdown entailed.

You may not care but please don't be so arrogant to dismiss it as trivial.

Obsidiansphere · 08/12/2021 03:03

The truth and Alexander Johnson are diametrically opposed…

SickAndTiredAgain · 08/12/2021 06:58

[quote parietal]there is now footage from the actual party on twitter

That was filmed in the last couple of days.

SickAndTiredAgain · 08/12/2021 06:59

@madisonbridges

Did he deny there was a party? I thought he'd admitted there was a party but said no rules were broken.
I think he’s said all sorts of crap. But there is no way for a party to have happened and for no rules to have been broken, because one rule was no parties.
IncompleteSenten · 08/12/2021 07:03

I wouldnt believe Boris if he told me the time

LetHimHaveIt · 08/12/2021 07:11

Of course he's lying. He's an habitual liar. But it doesn't matter. People will still vote for him and his moronic colleagues and, every time they do, they send the message that they don't care he's a liar. So why would he stop?
