AIBU?

To wonder why this has come through the post for DH..?

Saw an opened perfumed shaped parcel on the side and curiosity got the better of me so thought I'd sneak and see if it was the Chanel perfume I'd be hinting about. Found this..
Would you assume it's a secret Santa?
Or I've just had a baby and he clearly isn't getting enough...

If you've found this page in your search of the best couples sex toys that have been recommended by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best sex toys for couples useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

@BIWI

Why on earth would you open a parcel that's not addressed to, or for you?!

This. Isn't it illegal to open post addressed to someone else?

@Benjispruce5

In the Algarve they sell those ‘toys’ in vending machines. I was Shock as kids walked by. Clearly very open about sex in Portugal.

Shock and I thought cock rings in the pub vending machine on holiday was weird!

I'm dying to know if OP mentioned this to DH

OP is clearly not upset.

Perhaps some of you with the sex toy collections should get them out tonight? Might relax you a little bit...

@IamGusFring

TBH my first thought was that it was a scorned affair partner sending him a bit of revenge but then he wouldn't leave it lying there .

That was your first thought?

Are you the hack who writes the Dear Deirdre photostories in the Sunday rags?

@ThirdElephant who cares, the OP didn’t open anything. Read the first sentence of the OP again.

No different from a dildo imo

Oh… I was not expecting that…

It’s one thing to buy one in secret but quite another to leave it on the side where your 5 year old could find it 🤢.
@HaveringWavering totally misread that. Well if it’s open he’s obviously not keeping it a secret, just ask him!
I misread it too in the OP but I realised it was already open after reading about 20 different PPs saying it was already openGrin

Thanks everyone for the laughs! He went upstairs for a shower when he got back so when he came down I said "haven't you taken your new toy with you upstairs!?" He looked very confused and said what toy I said your new girlfriend. He said it's a secret Santa but he's a manager so I don't think it's very professional? It's now wrapped up in our sons Spider-Man wrapping paper on the side which I find even more disturbing and bloody hope he moves it before DS gets up and thinks it's for him..:

Jesus Christ is everyone on Mumsnet a Victorian?!

Get over it. Masturbation is normal. Using toys is normal. And don't ask about it it's really none of your business.

As for people whinging about secret Santa some of us work with people with a sense of humour and this sort of gift is rife.

You could just say, move that or DS will think it's got him? 🤷‍♀️

…when do the casts come off your arms? How are you managing to pick up the baby? When’s the deadline for your story and how are you going to type it?

In fairness, if I left a partially unwrapped vibrator on the side, my DH might be tempted to mention it

He needs to be very very careful giving that as a secret santa gift. In a workplace it could be misconstrued.

Why can’t you move the package before your son sees it? Put it in your DH’s car/bag/ out of the way fgs!!!!

For Christ’s sake just move the gift wrapped rubber fanny out of the way of the child!

Is there a chance someone bought it for him for secret Santa and he is too embarrassed to admit to that?

Report
Anaximedes · 07/12/2021 22:34

He said it's a secret Santa but he's a manager

Yes this is unprofessional, as you said. Depending the exact context of who he's giving it to, it could be construed as sexual harassment in the workplace, too.

Or he's lying (not sure why, perhaps because he thought you'd not be happy with him buying the sextoy for himself, dunno).

Not really okay leaving it on the side for the 5 year old to see, nor wrapping it up in your son's style of wrapping paper. So I'm a bit Hmm about your partner now.

Hope it all turns out all right. Your child will probably/hopefully be totally disinterested in it and hopefully it won't cause problems at his workplace if that is really where it ends up.
