To wonder why this has come through the post for DH..?

Saw an opened perfumed shaped parcel on the side and curiosity got the better of me so thought I'd sneak and see if it was the Chanel perfume I'd be hinting about. Found this..
Would you assume it's a secret Santa?
Or I've just had a baby and he clearly isn't getting enough...

To wonder why this has come through the post for DH..?

It's completely inappropriate as a secret Santa gift from a manager.

@Sadcatsandcoffee

It's interesting the disapproval of OP opening her husband's post. We've always opened each other's post and I've never considered it strange. I think we just see post as admin tbh so we must be quite boring! Less so at Christmas, I suppose, if something looks gifty. My husband uses my Amazon and eBay accounts so everything comes in my name anyway haha. I'd be quite bemused if he bought himself a plastic fanny using my Amazon account.

Even from the opening post, the OP did not open her husbands post. People just didn't read that part I guess.

That said, my wife and I open each others all the time, never gave a thought not to.

For Christ’s sake just move the gift wrapped rubber fanny out of the way of the child!

Absolutely!! This comment has really made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣

OP coming back after several "normal masturbation." comments and now says her DH has bought it as a SS present... Despite the "it's a distasteful SS present" I am so confused as to what the truth is.

And people ALWAYS work out who gave what in a secret Santa.

At my last place the SS organiser kept a list, ostensibly so no one got left out on the day without an explanation, e.g donor off sick or something, but it was also a useful deterrent against giving really inappropriate gifts. I

If they open their SS gifts in a group, and I saw someone open that, I'd be a little bit sick in my mouth

Not at the idea that someone would own a sex toy - that's normal. But that vision of my manager holding that in their hand, and it bringing staff/managers sex life into the workplace is frankly, fucking disgusting.

Give it to a charity shop!

🤢 It’s not OP’s to donate but who would even buy this from a charity shop, I know it hasn’t but if there’s any doubt at all it’s been used… 🤮

Your husband sounds like a David Brent level idiot. One who might get into serious trouble for this in any normal workplace.

I would urge him not to give this tbh. It's a bit of a step too far isn't it? Does the person hes giving it to have a wife/girlfriend? Cause I wouldn't be that impressed if someone gave DH one of these (don't have a massive issue with the item, just weird as hell giving it as a gift, even a jokey one!)

I'd be incredibly mortified if I received this, even as a joke secret santa gift, from a manager or even same level colleague for Christmas.

Honestly OP, i would be asking your partner how well he knows the individual he intends on giving this to. I'd presume he isn't daft enough to give it to somebody he barely knows but then he has also left this out in the open and intends on wrapping it in your DS's wrapping paper.

I'd be having words.

@user1471447863 agree. You can't have both ways. I enjoy my sex toys with and without my husband but equally I am not going to dictate his sex toys.

@RicherThanYew

Only on Mumsnet can your partner buy creepy as fuck sex "toys" and the OP is in the wrong. You lot are something else.

but if a woman buys herself a Rampant Rabbit Thruster Delux she is 'empowered' and in control of her sexuality and listening to her bodys needs?
A man has a toy and suddenly he's a sad wanker and a probably a serial rapist?

I have worked in a couple of places where that kind of thing would be OK as a gag SS gift.

I hated working in those places and I don't any more, but those sorts of cultures do exist. They tend, in my experience, to be very heavily dominated by one sex.

Can't see the fuss about a man buying this for himself - interestingly the pearl-clutchers on this thread don't come across as progressive feminists but just mirrors of old-fashioned patriarchal shaming of women for their sexuality. Except they're shaming men for their sexuality. Great job ladies.

However buying it as a Secret Santa present is way weirder. What kind of office culture makes that acceptable!

I suppose different people have different experiences/tolerances when it comes to sex. I would have thought a sleeve thing quite low on the scale of things. I have a nice collection of vibrators, none realistically modelled on a penis, and I really don’t see the difference. How is it eww scummy for a man to have a sex toy but ok for a woman to have a rabbit?

I mean, people have a wank, no? Don't you? Do you really not have a vibrator?

MN becomes more puritanical everyday. You should really try a vibrator, might make you less uptight.

Nice wee bit of sexism here, good one.

@EdgeOfTheSky

Puritanical or not…. If that gets opened at work, there is a real possibility of a complaint. Many people / women would not appreciate a rubber vulva appearing in the office.

Especially once Marvin in logistics has done an obscene ventriloquist act with it. Or Ryan from finance has tested it with a cocktail sausage.

And people ALWAYS work out who gave what in a secret Santa.

It’s a pretty poorly thought out choice. Assuming he doesn’t work in a sex shop or something.

The recipient may well find it hilarious. But if it’s opened in an office with other staff there is a fairly high chance at least one person might be really uncomfortable with it.
Is the entire office made up of men with the exact same sense of humour for these things? Very unlikely.
Especially if some idiot decides to demonstrate it with an office pen or indeed cocktail sausage.
Yes it’s just a sex you, and yes anyone is free to use one, but absolutely not appropriate in an office environment.
I think I’d find it slightly uncomfortable to be honest and I’m not a prude by any means. And I’d feel pretty disgusted for the younger girls in our office seeing it, as I suppose I feel protective of them and would be angry if they were made to feel uncomfortable just for a joke.
I’d certainly be thinking what prize twat bought that!
And let’s hope the recipient does find it funny. If it’s been bought to cause them embarrassment…. And it was from a manager….. they’d have a pretty good case.

when do the casts come off your arms? How are you managing to pick up the baby? When’s the deadline for your story and how are you going to type it?

I don’t get this, someone please explain!

Loads of dildos are penis-shaped, with veins and balls

🤢🤢🤢

OP said she hopes the present get moves so DS doesn't see it wrapped in spider man paper and think it's for him. The other poster is asking what's wrong with her arms that stops her from moving it.

Exactly. And you can even get ones that thrust.

Exactly, aren't all vibrators sort of penis shaped? It wouldn't work if they were octagonal would it?
