To be so upset about Arthur is it normal

Onthedowns · 03/12/2021 16:37

I just cannot stop crying. I know it's another thread but listening to those recordings of that poor boy i have been physically sick and so upset. I have cuddled my children so hard. I came from an abusive background but nothing like him.

I feel completely irrational

Coupled with covid what has happened to society 😔

Reported too. Ignore KaptainKaveman and other posters like this.

"How on earth will her own dc ever get over this."

Does anyone know what happened to her own children? Did they go on to live with their father? She had many children from many different fathers is that right?

Picklepopsalot · 09/12/2021 16:20

@KaptainKaveman it’s clearly normal, given how many people are feeling heartbroken over it. It’s not ‘drama’, it’s not a soap storyline. It’s an innocent little child that people have an instinct to protect. You don’t need to have known Arthur to feel devastated to know he (or any child) experienced such awful suffering. Or wish they could have saved him.

Just because you don’t feel they way others do doesn’t make them wrong

Buddhabowl · 09/12/2021 16:23

@KaptainKaveman what a horrible unpleasant post. Do us a favour and jog right on.

Sweetchocolatecandy · 09/12/2021 16:35

@KaptainKaveman

And no, OP. It isn't normal. At all.
What’s a ‘normal’ reaction to hearing about horrific child abuse then?

It speaks volumes about your lack of empathy when you seem more preoccupied with people’s reactions than the actual event itself.

oakleaffy · 09/12/2021 16:35

@phishy

Just looking at that video of them enjoying ice creams in the living room and opening happy meals for Tustin’s kids, whilst knowing Arthur is standing there in the hallway, is upsetting.

She looks so smug eating the ice cream, especially as the prosecution said she wanted Thomas Hughes to provide for her and children and she didn’t want Arthur there.

I absolutely would have liked to have slammed that ''Mr Whippy'' into her wicked, cruel grey face..It was grotesque.

I am not a violent person, but seeing her slack~ jawed diatribe against little Arthur to the Police and licking that ice cream while Arthur starved makes me very angry indeed.

Mistressofnone · 09/12/2021 16:57

I haven't stopped thinking about Arthur all week. I avoided the news when I heard but Arthur didn't have the luxury of switching it all so I made myself watch. The pair of them are vile and my heart bleeds for Arthur, his grandparents and his mother.

Agree, that footage of them eating ice cream while she puts her manky feet all over his evil father. Just grotesque.

Mary46 · 09/12/2021 17:28

Poor little lad it is tragic. Vile parents. I was upset watching ice cream video.

cantstopthinking21 · 09/12/2021 19:26

Arthur is in a better place, we are not...

Opalfeet · 09/12/2021 19:57

@cantstopthinking21 is this for real. A better place for Arthur would have been safe and happy with a family that cared for him, this could have happened even if he'd been adopted.

Mufasa1118 · 09/12/2021 20:42

@opalfeet I thought the same thing. Arthur is I a better place. we are all still stuck here with many years to go

sst1234 · 09/12/2021 22:30

Let’s compare what they did to a poor defenseless boy and now consider how they will be spending their days. Cushy cell, 3 square meals a day cooked for them, gym, tv, educational opportunities. Did they afford that child all these privileges. Is this justice? It’s a joke. This is what people should be angry about.

Opalfeet · 09/12/2021 22:50

@Mufasa1118 I don't understand your logic, at all.

It's a myth that prisons are cushy, especially for this pair.
Seemslikeagoodidea · 10/12/2021 01:04

@SammyScrounge I agree, these two will be treated very harshly by other inmates (and possibly some of the staff too - most of them will try to remain professional but some of them may not exactly rush to the aid of these two monsters, if other prisoners attack them). They will have many years to regret their awful crimes, and those years will pass very slowly. I would prefer the death penalty for cases like this, but anyway they have not got off light, they are going to suffer and I feel no sympathy for them (just annoyance that keeping them alive is such a waste of money and resources).

mathanxiety · 10/12/2021 01:54

The case really shook me.

He was a child who knew the truth and faced it. He was conscious all along of the danger he was in and the end he would meet. This is a horrific thing for a little child to have to come to terms with.

DogsandCatsB4u · 10/12/2021 03:11

Don’t listen to the recording it’s so sad. That poor boy.

DogsandCatsB4u · 10/12/2021 03:23

Think it’s unfair to blame the relatives. They cannot just kidnap a child, they reported and the authorities did nothing.
His uncle and grandmother clearly loved him a lot which is why he called out for his uncle. The family have been through enough

They won’t be visiting the gym, education or anything because then they will be sharing facilities with other prisoners. Their days will be in a cell watching tv, being bored to death.
AnonPost0320 · 10/12/2021 07:34

It isn't a myth. Google images of Peterborough prison (where she is)... looks like respite to me...
So wrong. Prison should be nothing but a cage how is it punishment these days.
They even get ipad time to facetime family. I know someone who's friend is in prison and he has his own cell, own bedding, own clothes from outside, tv, PlayStation, a job, theres a shop for luxuries and snacks, 3 meals a day, games rooms etc..... it is not a myth it's a holiday for them!

charliebear78 · 10/12/2021 08:53

It really fucks me off thinking that they will be getting all of what the above poster described.
It may be a long long time served(for her) but it isn't a punishment!
A cell and hatred from other prisoners is what they deserve.
So angry and upset still

cantstopthinking21 · 10/12/2021 09:04
@Mufasa1118 I don't understand your logic, at all.
Of course I also wish that he had a chance to be in a loving and stable family - be it his own or an adopted. But it wasn't his reality, from very early age he saw lots of domestic violence and fights between his parents, he had trauma of loosing his mum...which was already too much for a little sweet boy....

So no, being in a loving family wasn't his reality - even now the relatives are arguing about who gets his body. I imagine it would be as well the case if they've been there on time - more and more adult arguments about who gets him.

He has to be in a better place, full of love. We are in the world where this has happened, and is probably still happening.

AnonPost0320 · 10/12/2021 09:07

@charliebear78 there needs to be s petition to make prison a prison, not a bloody pontins!!!

charliebear78 · 10/12/2021 09:22

Done

Fatandfifty49 · 10/12/2021 09:40

Yanbu. It is horrific and I feel the same. My ds looked similar to him at that age and can't imagine harming him.

I hope we can get to the root of this country's social problems and prevent such harrowing cases as these
