To be so upset about Arthur is it normal

I just cannot stop crying. I know it's another thread but listening to those recordings of that poor boy i have been physically sick and so upset. I have cuddled my children so hard. I came from an abusive background but nothing like him.

I feel completely irrational

Coupled with covid what has happened to society 😔

@ilovebrie8

I keep hoping to hear that they’ve been attacked in prison ...please someone get to them ...
It’s really surprising that nothing serious has happened to them yet, apart from her minor salt poisoning incident. I thought prisoners don’t take mercy on scum like these. How come all is so quiet on that front.
sst1234 · 09/12/2021 00:45

This poor boy had wasters for parents. The mother obviously was too worried about being shocked up with another man to start living with someone she ended up murdering. The dad and stepmum simply deserve to have done to them what they did to that boy. And then you get the grandmothers, all teary and enraged on tv saying no one did anything. No one did anything, including the grandparents. They all come out of woodwork proclaiming to be heroes after event saying how they raised the alarm. They did nothing like enough, no good playing the savior now.

bluebellYellow · 09/12/2021 07:20

I know this would never happen, but they should tell Tustin and Hughes that they have got the sentencing wrong and they are both found not guilty on all charges and free to go, only to then admit they will never leave prison and have whole life sentences.
Then they will know how Arthur felt when they said they was taking him to his grandmothers to live, only to drive him around and back to their house of hell.

Sorry if that sounds ridiculous but they would deserve it.

Belledan1 · 09/12/2021 07:35

Think the grandmother was told by the police to stop harassing them which is just ridiculous. I dont get why someone in the family just didnt just grab him.

Buddhabowl · 09/12/2021 07:54

I think it was a difficult position for the grandparents. Social services did nothing despite being asked by a number of people, they were told by the police not to harrasss and that they were breaking lockdown rules.
If they turned up they wouldnt be allowed in. I'm sure in hindsight they wish they had done more, but it must have felt like they had nowhere to turn.

phishy · 09/12/2021 09:12

The Victoria Climbié inquiry report (400+ pages long) is a very upsetting insight into how multiple opportunities (at least12) by social services, police and doctors were missed to save her, despite concerned distant relatives of her killers and neighbours reporting the abuse.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 09/12/2021 09:15

Blue yellow, I do wonder if some element of someone punishment should include what they gave to their victim's.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 09/12/2021 09:17

There family also had no idea just how utterly desperate things had become for Arthur. I am sure had they had any inkling or even glimpsed him during those last weeks they would have been battering the door down.
Who in their wildest imagination would think what was going on!

cantstopthinking21 · 09/12/2021 09:46

I actually hope they have very long miserable lives...just being attacked and killed quickly wouldn't be enough - she herself tried to commit suicide twice in the past, and once before going on a trial - she needs to survive...
Someone said before and it summarised it really well for me why I struggle so much personally - it's because it's the first case where you really can't distance emotionally, because you can see and hear him...and it makes me guilty because I realise that it's been happening before, it's happening now - but it was my ability to switch it off and not fully comprehend the extent of it...he was so naive and he already had it hard - but they couldn't just kill him, they felt the need to take his dreams away, gaslight his memories and start questioning anything good he has ever experienced, destroy his dreams....no wonder his body didn't feel like fighting when he was taken to the hospital - there was nothing good left for him anymore...
I also blame the system, the services, the relatives, but I think we all are guilty...on the same day Arthur was killed - Marcus Rashford published a letter about free meals - and the outcry from some people how it's unfair...surely we live in a country where we can at least make sure we spend enough for vulnerable children to be looked after, to be fed, to feel safe, to be provided warm accommodation and support as needed...

HumpreyDowny · 09/12/2021 12:31

He was a monstrous bastard...i fully think he let go of his son, saw him as only a nuisance, non-human thing, and wanted him to die, why else would he prevent him from going to school?

HumpreyDowny · 09/12/2021 12:36

@sst1234 "It’s really surprising that nothing serious has happened to them yet, apart from her minor salt poisoning incident. I thought prisoners don’t take mercy on scum like these. How come all is so quiet on that front."

Do prisoners get given access to news? i have no idea...it seems the cellmate didnt know, and learned it after reading the court report.

TooManyGiraffes · 09/12/2021 12:38
@TooManyGiraffes

I was that child, and I have no idea why now, even decades later.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. Flowers

Did you feel this way with siblings too? I have a sister who I think would join in on abuse to me. She has very extreme views of right and wrong and makes no room for human frailty/mistakes.
No. My older siblings just kept out of the way and the younger one was too young to understand.

TooManyGiraffes · 09/12/2021 12:41

Dreadful if siblings are also involved like that. 😔 It's bad enough if they just turn a blind eye.

that is what i keep thinking...surely inmates must have heard what these sick monsters did to a defenceless little boy....

Ponoka7 · 09/12/2021 12:58

They are both on wings with other child killers. She is on suicide watch and has had admissions to hospital. He is probably on watch as well.

AnonPost0320 · 09/12/2021 12:59

Some get access to TV's in their cells but they have to earn it through good behaviour and I'm pretty sure they have to pay too through work

HumpreyDowny · 09/12/2021 13:24

So if some prisoners have access to news word travels i guess...

Dont think she ever has any intention of suicide. Textbook psycho / narcissist wanting to get attention and make people feel sorry for her....Still cant believe neither of them has even said sorry or felt remorse for their actions...

AnonPost0320 · 09/12/2021 14:12

This is the worst thing, they aren't even sorry. Her previous cell mate even said she only ever shed a tear for Hughes.
Classic narcissist will never believe they are in the wrong.
After Arthurs mum went to prison he became anxious he should have been reassured and filled with love but instead he was brutally punished for his anxiety

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 09/12/2021 14:47

The way she said when sent the photo "he's not getting up for shit"
What did she do to that poor boy when he was already dying, that's why it think she moved him into the hall to try and get a reaction.

How on earth will her own dc ever get over this.
Arthur it seems had minimal assistance after his mum was jailed I hope hers get much better support.

Sweetchocolatecandy · 09/12/2021 15:00

Great. So they are not really going to get the tough time in prison they deserve then. Cushty cell with other like-minded psychopaths and mental health professionals empathising with them, probably telling them their tough childhoods were to blame. That’s the British ‘justice’ system for you.

And no, OP. It isn't normal. At all.

TheGirlWithoutAName · 09/12/2021 15:41

If they haven't they will soon when new inmates are admitted. They won't be able to hide in solitary forever.

TheGirlWithoutAName · 09/12/2021 15:42

@KaptainKaveman

What a lunatic thread. It's like some of you are really enjoying the drama of it. You don't know these people. Stop behaving like you do. Get a grip on reality. Stop believing every word the tabloids make up. Stop competing to see who has cried/ screamed/ broken down/ hugged their kids the most.
There are court reports. This is nothing to do with tabloids. Hmm
AnonPost0320 · 09/12/2021 15:55

What a horrible heartless person you are...
This post is for people who have been triggered for one reason or another following the death of a child that could have been prevented. Don't like it, don't come on the thread.
