Do people who talk of a 'forever home' forget they are going to age?

Who wants to rattle around in a family home when the kids have left and you can no longer do the stairs? Are people intending on hogging a home too big for their needs until they die or am I missing something?

What is a 'forever home'?

I’m not sure why people are commenting about the phrase property ladder.

Surely that’s been around for decades and is simply the practice of starting out in a smaller house then moving once or twice to a larger house when you can afford it?

A lot of people do it. I started in a small flat, then a house and now a bigger house. When I was moving a lot of people comments it’s the next step on the property ladder. Not a phrase I sue myself but really not annoying or offensive?
