Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?

We live on the same road as my 3 childrens (10,9,7) school. We are directly across the road and the lollipop lady stands at our gate.

Everyone, including teachers comes past our house to get to and from school.

My husband changed the large let it snow sticker we had in our window so it says 'melon tits' on Thursday night
I didn't notice until I got home from work on Friday night. (I had some messages from people I know about it but can't check my personal phone at work. I have a work phone for emergencies)

Im not amused and I've taken it down.
He thinks it's funny and I should lighten up and put it back.

I thought it was mildly funny in an Oh FFS way but I'd say "yeah ha ha ok take it down now" But ANYONE who tells me to "lighten up had better be able to run fast wearing armour.

honeylulu · 28/11/2021 15:03

I would find it hilarious but I have the sense of humour of a 12 year old boy.

One day of humour is enough though and I would not leave it up longer. The joke would rather lose its lustre after that.

You must be new round here.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested the OP gets their ducks in row, get copies of all important documents, pensions, bank accounts, the obligatory free half hour chat to a divorce lawyer, logging the incident with the police because he is probably abusive and there is another women waiting in the wings because ones 'spidey senses' should be trusted above any actual facts.

GrinGrinGrinGrin this is so accurate!!!!
Smilerjone · 28/11/2021 15:05

It’s the kind of thing I would find funny with fridge magnets but advertising his immaturity to the entire street and school community would give me the ick.

Pawprintpaper · 28/11/2021 15:09

@MassiveHoard

Grin I think its quite funny, but I can also see your point of view.

I'd want to move. That's mortifying.
I couldnt be with someone like that.

Pinkbrush · 28/11/2021 15:10

LOL. I get why you’re annoyed, but it’s funny. Far worse things could happen in life!

ineedsun · 28/11/2021 15:11

I think this is hilarious, and the fact that some people think it’s puerile and whatever the other things were would make me find it even funnier. I’d make him change it back because obviously there are some people who would be offended but I definitely would laugh first.

That makes it even funnier
muddyford · 28/11/2021 15:12

It made me laugh, especially when I had worked out that the M was the W upside down. I would take it down Monday evening.

DismantledKing · 28/11/2021 15:12

I’d think that he was a comedy genius, but then again I may have been watching too many Bottom repeats on UK Gold.

NothingSafe · 28/11/2021 15:13

Another puerile twat who finds this very funny, sorry.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 28/11/2021 15:14

swapping the letters around - kind of funny if immature. Putting a sign that says tits where children on the way to school see it - totally out of line.

Can you make it say "ITS NOT ME" for tomorrow?

percythewitch · 28/11/2021 15:20
@percythewitch I thought he used the e from let it for that?

Can't see to e's in melon tits!
Let it snow has one e
Melon tits has one e

They are anagrams of each other (using the W as an M)
9 letters in each version
Where's the spare e?

Just not that funny

I8toys · 28/11/2021 15:29

Love it. Unclench.

PhilCornwall1 · 28/11/2021 15:39

I guess he could have also put "SWOLEN TIT", but then the school would have been on the phone about bad spelling.

LettertoHermoine · 28/11/2021 15:40

Hilarious! Love it

EmeraldShamrock · 28/11/2021 15:42

I wouldn't be happy if it was my home nor would I be offended seeing it on someone else's home, I'd find it funny. 🤣

PolytheneRam · 28/11/2021 15:43

I think it's bloody hilarious 😄

CampagVelocet · 28/11/2021 15:43

It's funny! Jesus, there are some humourless people out there. I would probably ask him to change it back precisely because of the judgemental bores tutting but it would make me laugh.
