Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?

We live on the same road as my 3 childrens (10,9,7) school. We are directly across the road and the lollipop lady stands at our gate.

Everyone, including teachers comes past our house to get to and from school.

My husband changed the large let it snow sticker we had in our window so it says 'melon tits' on Thursday night
I didn't notice until I got home from work on Friday night. (I had some messages from people I know about it but can't check my personal phone at work. I have a work phone for emergencies)

Im not amused and I've taken it down.
He thinks it's funny and I should lighten up and put it back.

I definitely be more embarrassed by having the sticker in the first place.. I think your husband was making a hilarious point about something incredibly naff to be fair.. Maybe you'll think again before sticking shite to the windows!

“ he had a limited choice as to what he could spell with Let it Snow, didn’t he?”

So confused lol how is let it snow an anagram for melon tits

user7377378283 · 29/11/2021 20:04

Ah I got it now lol

MurielSpriggs · 29/11/2021 20:08

@Sassoon

Someone has shared your plight on Twitter now and literally everyone commenting thinks it's hilarious.
I just tried googling for this - maybe better not to!
mediciempire · 29/11/2021 20:13

i do think it's quite funny, a bit inappropriate bc you're next to a school and you're right to take it down but i think it was funny. why are people messaging you about it though? that's odd.

Andi2020 · 29/11/2021 20:15

I actually think he done right
Now you know who is looking in your house if they are annoyed stop looking.
It's your window not theirs to look at

EightWheelGirl · 29/11/2021 20:22

I’d probs laugh tbh

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 29/11/2021 20:28

@DarlingFell

This thread is SO depressing 🤦🏻‍♀️

UNCLENCH. it’s a JOKE!

Life must be shit for those of you who are so easily offended, and for those around you. Stop being so UPTIGHT 😂

This ^

@AmyDudley

Its a bit pathetic ( I mean as a one off idiot moment I'd just roll my eyes, but wanting to keep it there is just very lame).

I'd tell him that anything to do with his work and solely associated with him (so his brief case/ work van/ laptop/ whatever)he can write melon tits on to his hearts content. Anything that is shared (such as your house) is off limits as you don't want people thinking you or the children are responsible.

I’ve now got an image of him writing melon tits on everything, which is amusing me more than the original post.

@PaddleBoardingMomma

It's the sort of thing that's pretty funny if someone else's partner has done it, it someone else's house...

My partner and my home? No, I'd be raging 😂

^100% this!!!

I seriously laughed at this. It's genius and very, very funny in a properly childish way.

If, however, this was my house and I lived opposite the school. I'd be livid at my husband!!

Sooooo, I think everyone would laugh. But I understand you being super cross

Brilliant response and so true Grin

I'm laughing because I think it's hilarious.

Because it's not my house or kids school.

Done in my house - yeah I'd be annoyed too! (Although I'd probably also laugh at the cleverness I'd be annoyed at the damage to reputation)

If I was walking past I'd also find it funny Grin

CherryRipe1 · 29/11/2021 20:57

I love it. I now want to have a new fashion label called Melon tits or Lemon tits.

I guess you'd put the W upside down for the M
Dollydav76 · 29/11/2021 21:14

Oh my days I nearly wee'd that has just gave me the chuckle I needed. Bet a few of the parents have had a proper chuckle Grin

me4real · 29/11/2021 21:17

I don't know if people would even necessarily know he's referring to a particular person- it might just seem random.

So basically you have something about tits in your front window for everyone to see. That's not ok, I would rearrange it again if I were you, or take it down.

ThreeWiseBuddhas · 29/11/2021 21:20

Are you married to Beavis or Butthead?

Amybelle88 · 29/11/2021 21:33

Hahahahahhhhhahahahahahhahahaha

Peanutbuttercupisyum · 29/11/2021 21:53

It’s funny enough!! More than the words melon tits, I’d think it was more funny imagining all the outraged mummies in their sensible raincoats getting all het up about it. Putting their face masks over their dcs eyes to stop them reading the word tits...

me4real · 29/11/2021 21:54

Well done for taking it down. He sounds quite crass. In your own home where no one can see is one thing, not while others can.

I also wouldn't think it right when you have kids and they can see that and think it's ok to go on about tits.

chaosrabbitland · 29/11/2021 21:55

iv got a really pathetic sense of humour and just reading this post made me laugh , however that said though if it was my husband i would worry if it was a referemce to my tits which would make me paranoid a bit

me4real · 29/11/2021 21:55

I mean, I'm not saying it's not clever.

ScottishSleepyMum · 29/11/2021 21:56

Think it's quite funny myself Grin

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 29/11/2021 21:56

😂😂😂 that's hilarious

Homebird8 · 29/11/2021 21:58

Don’t suppose you’d buy a home from this house builder in NZ then OP.

Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/11/2021 21:59

I’ve just been wondering where he got the M from - presumably he just turned the W upside down?

Talking of winter puerility, after a heavy fall of snow someone (probably more than one) once made a huge snow ‘sculpture’ of a massive erect dick, with balls to match, on a roundabout dh passed every day on the way to work.

I was seriously miffed that he never got the opportunity to take a picture of it - busy main road and nowhere to stop without causing a pile up. 🙁
