Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?

We live on the same road as my 3 childrens (10,9,7) school. We are directly across the road and the lollipop lady stands at our gate.

Everyone, including teachers comes past our house to get to and from school.

My husband changed the large let it snow sticker we had in our window so it says 'melon tits' on Thursday night
I didn't notice until I got home from work on Friday night. (I had some messages from people I know about it but can't check my personal phone at work. I have a work phone for emergencies)

Im not amused and I've taken it down.
He thinks it's funny and I should lighten up and put it back.

I still don’t understand what the funny part is!?
I love a good laugh, just where is it here?

Chely · 29/11/2021 19:12

I would have given my dh a slap for doing it once I stopped laughing

GetTheFlockOutOfHere · 29/11/2021 19:17

@LoisLane66

Melon tits is not an anagram of let it snow unless you invert the letter W. Are you married to a hormonal teen, because that sort of stupidity right opposite a school crossing and where parents and children can see it, is purely adolescent toilet humour and not befitting anyone who claims to be an adult, moreover, a parent. I certainly don't think it's anything to laugh about or encourage but your husband obviously dies. He's probably one of those individuals who cross the line with his choice of words and edgy comments in the pub or with mates and passes it off as banter. Pathetic.

I can't really see the point of anyone explaining it to someone like you, who has clearly had a sense-of-humour-bypass (along with a few other curmudgeons on this thread...) Why would anyone waste their time?
FredAstairesChair · 29/11/2021 19:21

I'm a renowned miserable sod who seldom laughs at anything at all.
Please thank your husband for the laugh he's given me! Grin

Bellyups · 29/11/2021 19:24

Is it because you live opposite the school that you are embarrassed?

I find it funny

BiBabbles · 29/11/2021 19:29

I'm curious about who messaged and if they made any guesses about who did it.

If it was friends, I'd probably let them know who it was and how hilarious he thought it was. Not sure about anyone else.

It's not unreasonable not to like it - or to feel for teachers & parents who deal with kids repeating that if they spotted it - but I struggle to see as bad as some are making out. I kinda like the idea of other anagrams.

divface · 29/11/2021 19:30

Its a bit tacky And cringey OP

And melon tits isnt much better either

Bugbabe1970 · 29/11/2021 19:31

That's funny 🤣

Sassoon · 29/11/2021 19:32

Someone has shared your plight on Twitter now and literally everyone commenting thinks it's hilarious.

Justme10 · 29/11/2021 19:33

I find it funny Grin I wouldn't have left it up or be putting it back up though.

I doubt any kids will have been staring in your window to read what it said anyway.

dizzydizzydizzy · 29/11/2021 19:33

Storm in a teacup. Everyone will
Have forgotten about it by tomorrow.

mumpants · 29/11/2021 19:37

YANBU - it did make me laugh though.

youkiddingme · 29/11/2021 19:38

Stick a photo of the culprit in the window with a dunce cap on his head.

somewhereoverthechipshop · 29/11/2021 19:42

I’d find that really funny, but my husband and I are very childish. After we’d had a laugh about it I’d change it back though!

ReasonableOfTunbridgeWells · 29/11/2021 19:42

Lighten up. It’s hilarious !

Notmoresugar · 29/11/2021 19:42

It makes him look like a twat.

Never mind @Sassoon I have found it. Grin

Harls1969 · 29/11/2021 19:52

Probably not ideal if you live near a primary school but he'd have given lots of people a giggle, including the teachers. I do have an incredibly immature sense of humour though (and I'm proud of it!). Could have been so much worse

Bella3456 · 29/11/2021 19:53

This really is similar to my humour and I would find this funny and I do think he's only done it to try and make you laugh however I totally see your point of view with it being directly outside the school e.t.c!

CherryRipe1 · 29/11/2021 19:58

Much hilarity, chuckle chuckle fall about. I sniggered & snorted at his silly schoolboy prank but the offendable ones will be offend.

moonfacebaby · 29/11/2021 20:00

I doubt the ops Dh was being deliberately sexist or misogynistic fgs.... he had a limited choice as to what he could spell with Let it Snow, didn’t he?

I’m a raging feminist - but getting het up about this? Nope. I sniggered and if that makes me immature, I’ll live...

user7377378283 · 29/11/2021 20:00

And you married this man?

moonfacebaby · 29/11/2021 20:00

Oh and I’m a teacher too....
