Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?

We live on the same road as my 3 childrens (10,9,7) school. We are directly across the road and the lollipop lady stands at our gate.

Everyone, including teachers comes past our house to get to and from school.

My husband changed the large let it snow sticker we had in our window so it says 'melon tits' on Thursday night
I didn't notice until I got home from work on Friday night. (I had some messages from people I know about it but can't check my personal phone at work. I have a work phone for emergencies)

Im not amused and I've taken it down.
He thinks it's funny and I should lighten up and put it back.

I'm sorry, I think it's really funny!!!

But ... If it actually happened to me, and this was actually my husband, then I don't think I'd find it so funny! And I would be a bit mortified and worried what on earth the other parents and lollipop lady would be thinking!! (Hopefully they saw the funny side?) But then again, might stop them snooping in future!!

KarenandFour · 29/11/2021 18:06

I like your husband! I’d find it funny but I’d probably still change it. Nothing to start divorce proceedings over!!! Lol

LoisLane66 · 29/11/2021 18:08

does

ClemDanFango · 29/11/2021 18:09

Melon tits GrinGrinGrin sorry but that’s fucking funny.

speakout · 29/11/2021 18:10

Pathetic.

Locker room banter which fuels misogyny.
He sounds like a wolf whistler or someone who shouts at women to " smile luv".

restingbitchface30 · 29/11/2021 18:16

It’s immature, but a bit funny. Lighten up a little.

PineappleTart · 29/11/2021 18:20

I'm more embarrassed that people got so offended they messaged you

NeedAHoliday2021 · 29/11/2021 18:20

I’m so done with primary school (youngest are in year 6 so nearly free). I’d find this really silly/funny. Not sure why you can’t be silly just because you’re an adult. But then, last time it snowed I made a snow woman with Dds with boobs.

dropitlikeitsloth · 29/11/2021 18:21

@Chloemol

How old is he? 5?

How childish and so not funny

🤣 so many people with sticks up their arses, it’s just a joke.
wentworthinmate · 29/11/2021 18:22

Me and my partner just laughed our melon tits off. We must be infantile according to most posters Grin

ToastCrumbsOnAPlate · 29/11/2021 18:25

I just tried to change my user name to Melon tits. It was taken.

StargazerAli · 29/11/2021 18:25

Immature possibly, but nothing to get too worked up about in the scheme of things. I'd have taken it down too.

ladygindiva · 29/11/2021 18:30

I would find it funny but then I am quite childish !

fayebelle · 29/11/2021 18:31

I (sorry) think it's hilarious 😂 but life's short and laughter is best medicine!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

peboh · 29/11/2021 18:33

I'm not going to lie, I chuckled. If my dh did that I'd just laugh at him and call him a tit. Life is too short to be angry over something like that

GinniMcGinface · 29/11/2021 18:38

Change it to “me on stilts”.

midlifecrash · 29/11/2021 18:39

For about 20 seconds it would be vaguely funny, but saying put it back and leave it is weird.

Thebig3 · 29/11/2021 18:39

I cant believe how boring some people are on this thread. My god its a joke, a silly one. No one was hurt, people are acting like he sacrificed a puppy in front of all the primary school kids walking to school!!

I think you need to lighten up, if you don't think it's funny then fine but it's honestly not that bad at all.

Howd1dthathappen · 29/11/2021 18:58

I think it is brilliant. I love this kind of humour and who cares what other people think. At least he isn't dull.

Cavementality · 29/11/2021 18:59

When you listed your children's ages, I think you left one out!

DockOTheBay · 29/11/2021 19:00

Get over it, life is too short to agonise about this sort of thing

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 29/11/2021 19:04

Change it to “me on stilts”.

Where do you get the extra 's' from, though?

It is immature (whether or not some of us might find it somewhat amusing), but without knowing OP's DH, I don't think you can categorically say he's being misogynistic. If he likes schoolboy wordplay humour, it's every bit as likely that, if it were a jungle scene with pictures of various animals and their names written below them, the gibbon would be reclassified as 'big nob' in no time at all!

77kidsandcounting · 29/11/2021 19:08

Ltb

fetchacloth · 29/11/2021 19:09

Hilarious🤣

Cakeandcoffeea · 29/11/2021 19:10

This is hilarious! Life’s too short. He was just having a giggle 🤭 I’d absolutely wee myself if my hubby did that but then we are quite fun and both know how to have a laugh (most of the time)
