wtf, i am in the north west, few hours back the wind picked up like nothing i have heard in years. I tis FIERCE!

Anyone else experiencing it?

It is extremely powerful and quite awe inspiring. The noise is seriously dark and creepy. Went outside and was almost taken off my feet. Trees bent double, howling, etc.

In Edinburgh… mad!!!! I hope our tenement roof holds up! We were meant to have gone up to Aberdeenshire for the weekend, no chance! DS9 is currently sleeping next to me, was too frightened to sleep in his own bed.

Shergill15 · 26/11/2021 21:48

It's definitely being unreasonable. NW here and it's howling outside. Stay safe everyone

wejammin · 26/11/2021 21:48

I'm in NW, I bought a lovely new (to me) car yesterday and I'm worried some flying tiles or branches are going to hit it. I've never had a nice car before, I'll be so miffed!

Youaremypenguin · 26/11/2021 21:49

Power cuts being reported frequently.

Sammy900 · 26/11/2021 21:49

Jeeez sounds awful in Scotland!

TheCaddieisaBaddie · 26/11/2021 21:49

Nw coast and its wild. Would love to go down to the beach but not chancing it. Bins have already gone flying.

frodojodo · 26/11/2021 21:50

Scotland is crazy!!! I'm near Edinburgh, we've had a power cut now for over 2 hours. Our house sounds like the roofs going to come off with the wind. Scary stuff!

Wagsandclaws · 26/11/2021 21:50

All quiet here in Somerset atm, forecast 50 mph at 3am though.

Sounds awful up north I hope you all have a safe ( if very blowy ) night!

IWanderedLonely · 26/11/2021 21:51

ShinyMe

I'm in Derbyshire and we have nothing at all. Come here, we're quiet as anything. It's not even raining.
North Derbyshire here. Snowing & windy ( but not s bstrong as othets have it).

ListenLinda · 26/11/2021 21:51

I’ve turned my garden table upside down, a bit worried the kids slide & DS trike will get blown about. Our fence is high so blocking the worst of it by the looks, we are in a yellow zone so hopefully should be okay. Part of the chimney breast goes down through our bedroom and it’s making a right racket

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 26/11/2021 21:51

@Meggie2008

SW Scotland here, blowing a hoolie so wouldn't like to be on the east coast just now! Definitely beats Hurricane Bawbag anyway
Grin I was waiting for someone to call it a hoolie - keep the words for snow, we have words for wind and for rain.
TokyoSushi · 26/11/2021 21:52

Cheshire here, mega wind started about an hour ago! It's pretty wild!

GlitterSquid · 26/11/2021 21:52

NW here too, apparently a building has partially collapsed on Blackpool prom and some of the illuminations are down.
Eek.....

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 26/11/2021 21:53

NW here too. 60mph at the moment. We live in a beautiful but draughty victoriana house 12 foot high ceiling and its freezing, I'm currently in bed to keep warm and am a little bit scared of all the noise!

tallduckandhandsome · 26/11/2021 21:53

I thought this was going to be about pizza toots! 🤣

I love it when it’s windy and I’m all safe at home!

Binro · 26/11/2021 21:54

It’s not the tower is it?
cakewitch · 26/11/2021 21:54

NW coast too. never heard wind like it.

SorryPardonWhat · 26/11/2021 21:55

Yep I'm in Cumbria, we (me and DC age 10 and 13) just opened the front door and screamed! Never seen anything like it. Both DC went out briefly to video on their phones. I was desperate for them to come in, trees blowing sideways.

QuestionableMouse · 26/11/2021 21:56

Just heard that a man has been killed in Northern Ireland.

Such a shame ☹️

speakout · 26/11/2021 21:58

I am in the red zone- Eastern Scotland the wind is literally screaming outside. I can hear my roof rattling, trees cracking.
It feels unsafe.

thefirstmrsrochester · 26/11/2021 22:00

Central Scotland, tonight’s storm makes hurricane bawbag seem like a stiff wind.

CaptainCallisto · 26/11/2021 22:01

N. Yorkshire here and it's nasty out there. 50mph at the moment and getting worse (or at least louder!). Our power's been off twice this evening so far, but luckily only for half an hour-ish each time. Got a lovely set of scratch marks up my legs from when next door's recycling bin blew over and the cat panicked!

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 26/11/2021 22:02

NW Wales here and open to the sea. My house is about to blow away.
Dh has battened down anything that could fly off in the garden. The cat went out as he'd been in all day, must have done the fastest wee ever and shot back in. The hail stones earlier were so loud on the windows and roof, poor cat hid under a blanket.

MeetMeAtOurSpot · 26/11/2021 22:04

I’m in bed and my bed is shaking.

I live in a very solid brick house, not a caravan or anything. How is my bed shaking?! I hate the wind. It’s pretty scary.
