wtf, i am in the north west, few hours back the wind picked up like nothing i have heard in years. I tis FIERCE!

Anyone else experiencing it?

It is extremely powerful and quite awe inspiring. The noise is seriously dark and creepy. Went outside and was almost taken off my feet. Trees bent double, howling, etc.

Yes, Blackpool here. Been terrible all day.

DawnAnn · 26/11/2021 20:57

NE here. Lights have flickered a couple of times and the internet signal keeps dropping. Hoping we don't get a power cut...

cheeseislife8 · 26/11/2021 21:00

Yep, Lancashire here and the wind is definitely BU. Its winding in circles!

Meggie2008 · 26/11/2021 21:01

SW Scotland here, blowing a hoolie so wouldn't like to be on the east coast just now!
Definitely beats Hurricane Bawbag anyway

tillytoodles1 · 26/11/2021 21:01

@NewlySingle2021

YABU I am a windmill and it's very necessary and reasonable. Grin I'm also NW. Need to take the dog out later which I'm dreading as it's whipping up round here and I'm picturing us disappearing into the sky like in the Wizard of Oz.
I was out walking my daughter's dog when the weather suddenly became like this. The dog was called Toto.
Elieza · 26/11/2021 21:02

Bawbag is indeed the Scottish version of ballbag. Grin

West of Scotland, central area, windy here but not dangerous as yet. No flying roof tiles or anything as far as I can see. Thankfully.

Stay safe everyone.

Just seen on the local Facebook page a tree has blown down on the main road in the village thankfully I don’t have to go that way ds work is in the opposite direction. Ds and dh are doing a driving experience tomorrow morning hope there is somewhere warm for me to watch not freezing my bits off by the track

latedecember1963 · 26/11/2021 21:07

I'm hunkered down in my caravan on Anglesey listening to the wind howling outside. It was a lovely morning when I left home in Lancs this morning and I had a good drive here.
Apparently the storm will be at it's height here between midnight and 3 am.
DH is supposed to be joining me tomorrow morning but he's going to see how the weather is before setting off.

userxx · 26/11/2021 21:08

@Damnyoureyes

It’s raging outside my house. I’m NW too.

Same here. I've come upstairs and opened the curtains to watch it.

bawbag? Grin
Totally normal way to describe a storm.
HerRoyalHappiness · 26/11/2021 21:10

Lancashire here. I'm half convinced my tree will come down in the night through my bedroom and kill me Hmm I've already had to chase my bins around the garden

FantasticButtocks · 26/11/2021 21:12

North Devon coast here, sea facing, north facing house, very noisy out there! Wind hurled rain so hard at my sash windows that it bounced in through various invisible gaps! Had a weird power outage earlier with partial power cuts to random lights, boiler not firing up, cooker display turning off and on, followed by everything going off and then minutes later on again! Bit weird and spooky

cantgetmyheadroundit · 26/11/2021 21:14

NW too. I'm in the shed having a fag, and im too scared to go back in Grin

iklboo · 26/11/2021 21:15

NW too, sitting in the car waiting for DH. to collect his takeaway. The car is rocking. And not in a good way.

Bingbong21 · 26/11/2021 21:15

Nice and quiet in Dorset

Hope everyone stays safe and it isn't too rough.

ListenLinda · 26/11/2021 21:15

North West here, I can hear it battering the house and howling down the chimney.
We are under a yellow warning so god knows how the people in the red zone feel.
It’s the worst i’ve heard it in a long time.

QuestionableMouse · 26/11/2021 21:17

NE here, wind sounds terrible. My bedroom is is the loft and I'm seriously thinking about sleeping downstairs tonight. It's also been sleeting and it's so damn cold.

ShinyMe · 26/11/2021 21:17

I'm in Derbyshire and we have nothing at all. Come here, we're quiet as anything. It's not even raining.

ParkheadParadise · 26/11/2021 21:19

I'm cuddled up on the sofa with dd bowl of BBQ Beef hula-hoops and a large glass of wine. I can hear the wind howling outside.

Gatekeeper · 26/11/2021 21:20

Ne england...bloody wild here and a covering of snow as well. Am in bed with hottie bottle snuggled up with one of the cats after a long, hard day

QuestionableMouse · 26/11/2021 21:21

Also slightly worried about my parent's car which is parked at mine - under a whopping great tree. I don't have any keys for it and my dad refused to move it so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's not a Skoda pancake in the morning 🤞🤞

MonkeyPuddle · 26/11/2021 21:22

I’m in W Yorks and it’s bad, not as bad as proper up north.
However I’m moving house tomorrow and I am absolutely not looking forward to shifting boxes in the 50mph winds and snow/sleet that is forecast!

Chloemol · 26/11/2021 21:22

That’s why there is a red weather warning, first since about 2018 I think all down the eastern Scotland coast to past Newcastle

Good old Storm Arwen

Can’t believe it’s been nearly 10 years! The tweets were legendary, but it’s probably most famous for one of the most dramatic moments ever caught on camera:
