wtf, i am in the north west, few hours back the wind picked up like nothing i have heard in years. I tis FIERCE!

Anyone else experiencing it?

It is extremely powerful and quite awe inspiring. The noise is seriously dark and creepy. Went outside and was almost taken off my feet. Trees bent double, howling, etc.

Just to run out and wrestle runaway wheelie bins in my pjs. It’s wild out there!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 26/11/2021 21:26

NW here and I can’t hear anything

MrsMcCluskeysCat · 26/11/2021 21:28

Yep NW coast too and I don't remember it being this loud for years! Lots of trees down already according to local FB group.

cheeseislife8 · 26/11/2021 21:28

A wheelie bin walked out in front of me on the drive home as well!

GayParis · 26/11/2021 21:29

It's never been almost 10 years since Bawbag!! That's crazy!

Arwen can bog off it's making a racket & I can barely hear master chef!!

WeirdArchitecture · 26/11/2021 21:29

NE with a red warning here. I’ve never seen a red warning for where I live. It’s horrendous out there and my Sainsbury’s delivery hasn’t turned up Sad

WeirdArchitecture · 26/11/2021 21:31

maggiecate that's insane, and horribly funny, although i know the implications aren't.

I dont recall this one, just the mad freeze of 2010.

NE here. Dh has braved it to take the dog for a poo walk. And it’s snowing.

ArrrMeHearties · 26/11/2021 21:35

Central Scotland where I am is being hammered by wind the now

CatFaceCats · 26/11/2021 21:36

NE Scotland here. Lots of local power cuts, trees and fences down. My lights are flickering and wifi going in and out. Kids school closed at 1:30pm and requested all parents come for their children asap. Never seen it so bad!

EyesAsGreenAsAFreshPickledToad · 26/11/2021 21:36

Ltb

flapjackfairy · 26/11/2021 21:39

Midlands here and it is wild here as well. We have already lost power once at tea time for nearly an hour so I am not sure if that was due to the storm as it didnt seem too bad at that point but quite scary out there now.

userxx · 26/11/2021 21:40

My tv aerial is making some worrying noises.

crochetmylifeaway · 26/11/2021 21:41

North east Scotland here. Schools were closed at lunchtime because of the red weather warning. So far we have all the main roads blocked by trees, roofs have been ripped off, neighbours fences and sheds have been blown down, the buses have stopped running and power cuts all over the place. It's not looking like it will ease up any time soon and we are still in a red warning for tomorrow.

It's been well publicised that this storm was headed our way all week so we got as prepared as we could for it. Even the trolly shelter at Asda has been blown away over the top of cars in the car park.

BoredZelda · 26/11/2021 21:41

We’re central Scotland, just in the amber part next to the red warning and it’s pretty brutal. Wouldn’t want to be in the red bit.

sosickofthisshit · 26/11/2021 21:43

I'm in Glasgow, and it sounds like a train is going through my livingroom it's that bad 😳

Sammy900 · 26/11/2021 21:44

maggiecate

Haha I totally thought the lamppost was going to go over!

It's howling through the windows and chimney here - East Midlands but nothing too crazy yet

Hope everyone stays safe tonight

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/11/2021 21:44

South Lakes here. The storm is going nuts! Been pushed home from the pub, nearly killed by tree branches falling. Dog won't go outside. Several plant pots have smashed in my garden.

Pbbananabagel · 26/11/2021 21:45

D’you think someone’s tried asking what it’s favourite biscuit is?

Binro · 26/11/2021 21:45

Also in NW, not even at the centre of the storm and it’s the worst wind I can remember (or at least the loudest). Have terrible visions of the chimney coming through the ceiling.

catgirl1976 · 26/11/2021 21:47

North West here too and I’m genuinely worried my windows are going to come through

Youaremypenguin · 26/11/2021 21:47

North East, red zone. We've got snow, sleet and serious wind. There will be trees down tonight and building damage. Fingers crossed we're all safe.

EIIa · 26/11/2021 21:47

Blowy as fuck
